International Palms Resort Cocoa Beach
- What's Included
My friend and I decided to drive down to coco beach for the holiday week. We are frequent travelers and have stayed many places. We had a blast here. The tiki bar was absolutely amazing. It was super fun and had great food at reasonable prices. The staff at the tiki bar were fantastic. They were fun and quick and made it a point to know our names throughout our stay. We opted to upgrade to the oceanfront room. It was 100 bucks more per night but after viewing the other rooms with no balcony looking at a parking lot we found it worth the up-charge. Well the oceanfront rooms are obstructed by huge trees! We had 3rd floor room and had a peek a boo view of the ocean because of all the trees. The first and second floors not only had trees but thick foliage which makes it impossible to see the ocean. The rooms were huge and had a refrigerator and microwave. We also had a separate seating area with dinette. The room was dated but clean. The beach was a short walk across the decking and offered beach chairs and umbrellas which is a plus. We had a lot of fun here but I doubt we would ever stay here again.
Wanted to stay here due to the property being on the beach. The room was nasty and the the staff unhelpful. Rather than cleaning the room we were delivered more towels. I don't even think you could call what was laying on the bed frame a mattress. We tried the bar and grill the food was ok but not what you would expect for the price. The service was not what you would expect from somewhere you are charged a resort fee. We did stay as part of a cruise package where we could leave our car at the hotel for a fee and pay for a shuttle to and from the cruise terminal. The drive to the terminal should of been 10 minutes. It took over 90 minutes due to multiple stops. We have stayed in Coco Beach many times before and used shuttles and never had issues. My biggest regret is not taking pictures of the room to add to my post.
Would not recommend booked through Hotwire and price seemed good. Their was a resort fee not sure why wasn't a resort. Rooms were very old, nasty and uncomfortable booked to stay two nights prior to a cruise. I thought for the price we could make it work. If you don't plan on sleeping that is true. Mattresses were very thin and photos on both trip advisor and Hotwire were definitely photo shopped. Do not waste your money on paying for transfer to ship port a 10 minute uber ride was $19 but the fee for three round trip was $30 but a 10 minute ride was 2 hours due to us having to drop off 3 other ships first. When we got off our ship guess what ?? no shuttle, when we ask they said shuttle had picked up some and it would be 30 minutes or so before shuttle returned. So we ask how many stops it would make before dropping us and they said a few. With a long drive ahead we opted for uber which calling and all took 20 minutes. Bar staff at mamboos were rude and acted as if waiting you was doing you a favor. First night on our cruise was early to bed because no sleep in two days, wasted extra days that we thought would be fun.
Rooms are old but clean. Ocean view from our balcony was nice. Very friendly staff and great customer service The pool area Amazing. With some updates it would be truly amazing. Be sure to visit Merritt Island. Huge shopping center and wonderful Veterans Museum there. That alone was worth the trip. The local restaurants are good. Papa Vito's and Simply Delicious Cafe and Bakery were two favorites. For the price we would come back.
I came for only one night and was enough. I checking about 4:30 Pm and the room was no ready i booked a King size ,they offered a double upgrade in the ocean side building the room was no too good the bathroom was full with mildew and, so tiny , the carpet dirty we have to go to a party in the port so we didn't complain , we came back late next day in the morning we can't sleep was very sunlight in the room no enough block from curtains and my husband was having hard time fall to sleep, we lift the phone to call the front desk and wasn't working we press all the keyboard no tone at all. We have to use our cell to call they said sorry and give as credit of $8 back to our credit card. The nice about this place is water front and has a nice place outside to sit with fire pit and also they have restaurants and play grounds. I come a lot to Cocoa and I been almost in all hotels and this one is no my favorite for sure.
