Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando
- What's Included
We stayed here for a week with one young child and one teenager during an uncharacteristically rainy time for FL. This wasn't your usual showers. We're talking steady downpours that forced us to be creative with indoor activities to keep everyone happy and dry. The club level staff were patient, helpful, and overall excellent with us throughout the week. The front desk staff was equally as helpful and even went so far as to graciously accommodate our request for more pillows to build a pillow fort! :D top notch service worth every penny.
Fabulous hotel - stunning decor - rooms beautifully decorated. Delightful. You can not fault this hotel, location brilliant for Universal parks and Volcano bay, park the car($22 a night) and leave it. The hotel provides a water taxi to the parks and a bus to volcano bay. Great pool
A welcoming, beautiful place to stay. No negative experiences. Didn't want to leave. This hotel has it all. You can dine, workout, swim, shop & relax. The staff is top notch! The rooms are elegant & very clean.
Great hotel, great location. We were able to visit the other hotels. They were easy to get to with the shuttle buses. We used the other hotel pools, slides and lazy river. Can't use Universal dining plan at hotel!
Where do I begin.... we checked in after 3pm, and had booked a king room overlooking the water and were supposed to have a private balcony.... so beware because there is not one balcony at this hotel even though the website offers the room with the balcony go look at the pictures believe me.... if you can get through the Universal convoluted website to even book a room... which we finally just gave up on and called the hotel.... and by the way why does a hotel get so wrapped up at being part of a theme park that they lose all concept of customer service and value? And since when does free water from the earth cost $7 ? If you want to come and stay at a overpriced for the value hotel that is supposed to be four star but is actually a 2, then this us your place..... okay so I'll continue on after we see the room that we were given which was on the second floor looking directly at the pool and all the noise that went with it, we decided to change rooms. We were told our only option was to pay another $100 a night.... by the way we're already paying $369 for a simple room.... to move a room that was really nothing more than a smaller addition to the one that we had, but at least it was quiet so that was a plus.... but to charge $470 a night for this is a joke. For $470 you can stay at the Hyatt Grand Cypress and get ultimate customer service a clean room and a pretty much like an Executive suite club level.... anyway I digress...let me move on. So our new upgraded $100 more a night room was not even ready, so we decided to go to the Jake's American Bar to have a snack while we wait for the room to be ready. 20 minutes to get to cocktails from the bar....simple cocktails vodka and a mixer that's it. The food came immediately after the drinks game we asked for Stoli and got billed for absolute which was twice as much, and I have no idea why. Granted the food was excellent I highly recommend the steak and caramelized onion flatbread and also the Mediterranean platter was very good. Two and a half hours after arriving finally our new room is ready. We had to rush to get ready for the luau that we bought tickets for at 6pm. And by the way don't waste your money on that either... we purchased the $80 tickets which are supposed to put you up front....we were not upfront we were on the side in the middle.... the food was very very good but service was awful.... just imagine sitting in a lawn chair at a table with several other people in the humidity...... the show was meh.... the one at SeaWorld that they used to have or the one at Polynesian... much better spend your money there. So after the luau we take the ferry over to CityWalk which was just tourist hell.... I know I know ...we should have known better (facepalm). I'm not even going to talk about what happened at CityWalk..... we get back to the hotel and finally have a moment to take a chance to look around .... dirty floors.... no robes ....I mean it for $470 a night I should at least get a robe to borrow.... regardless we crawled into the bed which was actually quite comfortable and was drifting off into la-la land when some child starts bouncing a ball or something in the hallway at 1 a.m..... for Father's Day they gave us a voucher for breakfast to make up for the inconvenience of having to move rooms.... specifically asked for extra extra extra syrup with the pancakes... we got eight Honey's and one syrup see the picture.... so to wrap up my review I will say that the front desk staff tried to be very helpful but this hotel is lacking in so many ways you can't list them all.... if you want to spend this kind of money definitely go stay at the Hyatt Grand Cypress or a Hilton anything but this hotel.... I guess there's a reason that in there 25 years of being here and staying at just about every hotel in the area that we never stayed here.... because we will definitely never come back.... you couldn't pay me to stay here. Oh I almost forgot outside of Jakes in the designated smoking area there is no turntine to dispose of the butts.... so it's awesome... when you come out from eating you get to look at everybody who's been smoking's nasty butts put out on the ground.... Loews... you have a lot of work to do.... stop being so wrapped up in the theme park that you literally take advantage of your guests.... hoping they're either so tired or exhausted they don't notice the multiple deficiencies at this Resort. The only pluses were some of the front desk staff and the food.
