Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando
- What's Included
Everything about this hotel is setup to conveniently help the universal park visitor. Unfortunately during our stay, housekeeping was sorely lacking. All other aspects of the hotel were great. Check in was easy, the store had what we needed, breakfast options were great, and the pool was wonderful. They also dealt with my husband's Celiac (gluten free restrictions) really well.
We knew going in that we were paying a premium to be onsite. Still, we expected first class accommodations due to price we were paying. What we got was a bathroom that had been poorly cleaned, no shampoo in either room, the drawer was broken in one of the dressers, and the mattresses were of quality that you would find in a lower cost hotel. The parking gates didn't function properly and getting into and out of the lot was a hassle. Certainly not the experience we were looking for at $400 per night. Doesn't come anywhere close to the quality that you find at the Disney hotels. We liked the park and will be back. However, next time we will stay offsite.
We chose this hotel for our 3 days visit to Universal. The main reasons for our choice was the proximity to the parks (10mn boat ride or walk), early admission to parks and of course the unlimited universal express pass included in the hotel price: a bargain for a family !As our plan was to visit the parks, we took a standard room which was well decorated, clean and comfortable. Of course no exceptional view, we were in front of the dog's park, but we did not care :-)The heated pool located in a luxuriant garden was appreciable!FYI: The hotel went through a complete refurbishment last year.
We stayed at this hotel for a conference we were attending in Orlando this last week. I liked the decor and the tropical feel of the hotel. After a long day at the convention center it was nice to come back to the chill island vibe of the hotel. The pool was always busy with kids and they seemed to love it. The drinks and food by the pool were awesome. We also really liked Emerils Tchop Tchop located in the hotel. Our room and the decor were nice. The hotel can definitely use some updating in places but I didn't notice it as much in the room. It felt modern and was clean. Service was unobtrusive but friendly and efficient when needed. The hotel is walking distance to universal studios which is great lots of options for entertainment!
Loved this hotel! The rooms were spacious, light and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was very large and modern.Loved the free transport available to Universal Studios from the hotel - the water taxi was fun but it doesn't run if there is lightning in the area, so it's good to know that you can walk or get a bus if you need to. These are all pretty regular so you never have to wait long.Staff were very welcoming upon arrival and you get a Hawaiian lei in keeping with the hotel's theme.Similarly to the water taxi, the pool closes for inclement weather such as a storm benign expected. This didn't really affect us as we didn't wish to visit the pool at this time, but I can imagine it may be annoying if you have a day to kill without park tickets. Plenty of food options in the hotel but CityWalk is a short journey away, with all the chains you would expect like Hard Rock Cafe and Bubba Gump. Would definitely stay here again.
