Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando
- What's Included
My family just returned from a 3 night stay. We had a club level room on the 7th floor or tower 3. I went into the visit very open minded, but also very accustomed to the level of service and hospitality that Disney provides. Unfortunately, that is not what we experienced at RP. Upon arrival, no one greeted us. At all. We were dropped off by the limo company, and no one so much as said hello. We wandered into the lobby with our suitcases, and turned right instead of left, which was the wrong way for the check in counter. No one pointed us in the right direction. We got to check in where it went smoothly. We got our Express Passes and headed to the park. We got a text when our room was ready. I found it peculiar that unlike Disney, you have to be in your room for bell services to bring your luggage. Because of this we missed the end of the dinner/cocktail hour that evening in the lounge. Speaking of the lounge, that was also a bit of a disappointment. The food offerings were decent, but the service left much to be desired. The staff sat behind the desk chatting amongst themselves. Not once was my family greeted upon entering the lounge. A simple "good morning", would be nice. I was doing my best to avoid comparing this experience to my many WDW trips, but this really was a big difference. The pool was very nice. My 6 year old son loved the play area on the boat. There were lots of chairs with towels marking spots (but no personal belongings) so finding a spot to sit was a little tricky. After a few hours, I did see a Team Member collecting towels from chairs. The women's bathroom at the pool was really dirty when I used it. The baby changing station was opened and it had small ants crawling all over it. There was wet toilet paper stuck on the wet floors. Just overall gross. There needs to be more frequent cleaning of those bathrooms. The proximity to the park was fantastic. The boat service was wonderful! The captains were always friendly, and I loved that we went through bag check at the resort and avoided those lines to get into the park. I would absolutely stay on property again next time we visit Universal. However, I will likely stay at Hard Rock or Portofino next time.
We only stopped the one night unfortunately as it was our last before returning home after two weeks touring Florida. Wished we'd booked another night so we could take more advantage of the hotel's proximity to Universal's theme park but City Walk was amazing and good for a night's visit . The hotel's pool area, restaurants etc looked really good but we didn't have time to sample them all. As expected, lots of kids so maybe not the best if your a "mature couple" like us.
I really enjoyed the wok experience at the island dining room. Ryan our server was amazing always bringing our drinks and asking how our food was.Jeremy our cook was amazing he handle 8 plates by himself without burning anyone food. After a long day at the park these 2 amazing individuals made me and my husbands day with great service and hospitality.
I recently stayed at Loews Royal Pacific from 3/12-3/16/17. I stayed with my husband and two friends in a Club Level Queen Room. This was my 3rd time staying at Loews Royal Pacific because this hotel is a dream come true. I can't say enough good things about the welcoming reception and beautiful decor. The benefits of this hotel make a trip to Universal amazing - walking distance, early admission, express passes, etc. If I could, I would give more than 5 stars to the Club Level staff. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The including breakfast, lunch and dinner snacks, and evening sweets make for an amazing day. The only reason for my 4 star review is the lack of Harry Potter movies in the club level lounge. After my first two stays, I raved to everyone at home about staying in a Club Level room and the opportunity to watch Harry Potter movies all the time in the lounge. As I am not the only HP fan (I mean, this is attracting many to Universal), it was almost a constant topic that Club Level was no longer playing these movies. I wish I could reach out to those in charge to bring back Harry Potter movies in the lounge as this only adds to all the other amazing aspects of the hotel. Thank you
Highly recommend this hotel they took my cell phone number and sent us a text as soon as our room was ready. All of the staff was so helpful. Being able to get into the parks early and the express passes made this an incredible vacation.
