Great Hotel

We spent 3 nights at the renovated Loews Regency in NYC. Great location!! Love the new Sant Ambreous next door. The rooms are nicely decorated, the device was great. My only recommendations are to improve quality of bath towels, they are very thin and rough. My other recommendation is improving service and quality of the restaurant guests have breakfast in. Terrible coffee and terrible croissants with high prices.

LOVED

I LOVE the Polynesian feel to this resort. The walk thru the gardens and the tropical decor outside are beautiful. I LOVE all the statues and furniture throughout the resort. Very nice. The water taxi is great and we had an excellent and funny trip with a security guard and our captain (Alvin) dancing to the Bee Gees song Staying Alive, VERY, VERY FUNNY!!

Nice hotel but poor value

All the quality you would expect from a premium resort hotel but you pay for it! Universal let themselves down by then charging for basics that should be free- parking $22 per night- really!!!! What other options are there? Water in the room $7 per bottle!! These little rip offs just leave a sour taste. Yet again they should learn from Disney- no contest.

Not bad!

Pretty hotel, pretty clean, some staff were not too helpful and I wasn't impressed by their Luau performance. I guess the Luau is different and not part of the hotel. I did complain to supervisor Raul and still waiting on a Bruce I was told to contact me to take care of my complaint?

Great hotel but customer service lacking slightly

This is the 4th year in a row that we have stayed here and we would usually rate this hotel 5 out of 5 and have done so in previous reviews but a little incident today has made us change our opinion slightly.We left our room at around 10:50 this morning and returned at 5:25pm to find our hotel room door open but no housekeeping in sight. Thankfully nothing was missing so we can only assume that given that our room had not been fully serviced (toilet roll, tissues, creamers not replenished) that housekeeping had forgotten to push the door catch back and make sure that the door was shut.However, anyone walking by would have seen an open room. Given the number of flyers you get through your door from fast food places it is feasible that they could just have walked in and helped themselves. Thankfully we lock everything away and nothing of value is left in the room but we feel it could have been so different if we weren't safety conscious. We complained to reception about the incident straight away and they were going to get security to come up and speak to us. 1hr later we still hadn't spoken to security. We had to go back to reception to be told security were reviewing the tapes and would be in touch. To us it would have made more sense if they spoke to us first even if it was just to establish a timeline of when we went out for the day and when we returned and if anything was missing. It's now 3hrs since we first reported the incident and still not heard anything so we have had to chase up again. Having spoken with an assistant front office manager he has advised that from security footage it was housekeeping that did not close the door correctly and that no one else had entered the room. From the lack of concern from reception staff we figure that it could be a common occurrence. We will definitely not be having housekeeping the rest of the week.This is our first experience of poor customer service and communication here which is a shame as the hotel and it's amenities are fabulous which is why we stay here for our whole vacation each year. However, next year it may not be our first choice hotel.The assistant front office manager has given us 2 vouchers for dinner for 2 at Islands Dining or Jakes but in all honesty we probably won't use them as our dining has already been planned for the week.
