WOW! We stayed here as part of our Universal Studios/Halloween Horror Nights Vacation. Unbelievable customer service from beginning to end. We had lunch down by the pool by the Bula Bar. A special shout out to Daniel, he had great recommendations for food and drinks. He went out of his way to make sure we were well taken care of. We are planning another trip for January and this will be out Resort of choice.
We stayed here for 1 week and also chose to spend 1 week in a Disney resort, this hotel superseded the week at the Disney resort by a mile. Both our weeks were similarly priced but we received way more value for money at the Royal Pacific Resort. We received the unlimited Express passes for the 2 universal parks for our entire stay for our entire family, this was invaluable. We also were able to go to the wizarding world of Harry Potter an hour before the park opened. We have a 10 month old baby and this required us to have certain amenities to provide for his needs and everything was provided for us, a refrigerator was already in our room, we received extra towels, a crib, we were offered a kettle or the use of the coffee machine which was in our room and also we were given a complimentary microwave oven. Towels were provided at the pool as well as towels for the sun loungers, the washing machine and dryers were in fantastic condition and meant that our washing could be done quickly while we spent time at the pool as a family rather than me sitting by the machines for hours, missing out of precious family time. We felt like we were experiencing a part of Hawaii by staying at this hotel, Hawaii has always been a dream destination of ours and it feels like we have experienced a small part of it. Staff were extremely helpful and polite, the room was impeccable and cleaned to the highest quality. This resort is a gentle 10 minute walk from both the universal parks and the walk is a beautiful one. If I could critique anything it would be that we needed to pay for our parking each day during our stay and there was no designated parking space to use during check in, the area outside the front of the hotel says no stopping allowed, drop offs only. This is not enough to stop us from choosing to stay here again over a Disney resort anyway but these are 2 things that Disney did provide.
Staying at the hotel has been voted a big hit by the family. Pool is lovely and perfect for kids and adults. Restaurants are ok but perhaps a good US type restaurant would be good. Buffet breakfast looks e pensive but isn't. It's really well stocked and we enjoyed it. The riverboat to the parks is great and all the staff on boats and restaurants were really good. Samuel on concierge desk was an absolute star with great unbiased advice and help. Rooms ar a little smaller than I have been used to in the US so feel a little cramped. TV excellent for the kids and great picture quality. All in all a recommend.
RPR may have become our second home at Universal. We really love the relaxed atmosphere and the staff goes above and beyond at nearly every turn.Celebrated our anniversary for 7 nights in a King Suite in Tower 2. We requested a room overlooking the parks, with a view of Hulk specifically. Our room had a decent view off to one side, but I think a Room in Tower 1 would have been nicer, if available. We appreciated the extra space that the King Suite offered for an extended stay such as this, but did miss the Club Level amenities that were present on our previous stay. There were a few hiccups, mostly at check-in when our room was inexplicably unavailable for over an hour when we were told that Housekeeping had just finished the room and was only waiting for it to be signed off. The front desk staff was apologetic and got us into the room as quickly as they could.More good outweighed the bad, however. Staff at Bula Bar and Islands Dining Room (we gave them a second chance for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised) were out of this world and made our vacation that much better. We texted our compliments to the front desk (number on card in your room) and let them know how fantastic they made our stay....and whatever scent they are pumping into the lobby needs to be canned and given to the guests upon checkout. Every. single. time. I walked into the lobby it smelled like the world went away. I need that scent in my life.
We stayed in this hotel in Mid-October. We were part of the Harry Potter Vacation Package. I loved the perks that we got to visit the park and hour before General Admission was opened and that we were issued Express Passes so that we could shorten our wait times on most rides. I found the hotel to be very clean, our room was what I expected with not complaints from any of my family. The pool area was kept clean and had plenty of chairs and towels for everyone. The nice thing about staying in this hotel was the short walk to the park of the availability of the Water Taxi to get to and from the parks. I would stay here again.
