Nickelodeon Suites Resort
- What's Included
So we wanted to go to Disney and sea world. We arrived the June 30th and stayed for a week. We should have left after two or three days. The room was a MESS!! Under the pull out sofa was wet and dirty. I called 3 times or more to get some toilet paper and paper towels and for someone to clean under the sofa bed. The staff do not clean the room well. The floor was always dirty. We enjoyed the water park but it was too busy so we decided it would be better to stay by the pool. Oh, check your bill, they charged us for parking when we did not rent car. When we came back my daughter got sick, not sure if it is from the filthy room. They must do better. We should not be paying to stay in a dirty room. Oh, some of the other visitors also complained after filthy rooms. One had the room she was staying with her family clean only twice when they stayed a week. This is not acceptable!
This was our 7th year in a row going to Nickelodeon/now Holiday Inn Suites Resort for our summer family trip and it was AWESOME!! The staff continues to exceed our expectations and provide a relaxing and fun trip for the whole family!! They even accommodated our son's dairy allergy with a personal chef that would make him anything he wanted -- talk about making him feel special, when he normally feels otherwise when at a restaurant. Huge bonus points for this mom :)We loved every moment of the pool, slides, mini golf and laser challenge--we all played and has a blast!! Thank you to Chefs Jose, Chris and Sammy and servers Jose, DaSilvia and Kecia for making our dining experience amazing!! We are already planning our trip to come back next year ( for longer :)
This was our second time staying here. Stayed 10 years ago when it was Nickelodeon too. Much different now.First thing I'll say is that the staff was very friendly and for the most part it's not their fault the hotel is kind of run down. Secondly - we didn't have problems checking in the way many reviewers stated, but we checked in around 6:30 pm on a Saturday night. However, any time I did have to go to the front desk, there was usually a line of about 5 or 6 families waiting. And they take their time with each guest at the front desk (10 minutes per family). There is a desk titled "Guest Services" to the left of the front desk. They are useless - only there to sell you park tickets. Management should rename that desk. Makes me think that since I'm a current guest and I need service I can get it at that desk - but no, I have to wait in the line for check-in even though I just need new pool bracelets.Third - Facility is a bit run down. Our room - toilet and shower both had a drip. We DID have cleaning come through every day (sometimes not till 7pm or so - but that was probably due to management needing to hire more maids - it wasn't the maids fault). Pool was very crowded - need to get there before lunch to get a seat, esp one in the shade. Pool towels are sort of like medium grit sandpaper - nearly get an abrasion from drying off your back. Fourth - breakfast buffet was actually a pretty good deal and had a decent variety of food. We did the buffet twice and service was friendly and food was good quality both times.Fifth - Just be warned that the hotel is a good value so it attracts a lot of guests that are looking for a good value (cheap). The stairwells smell faintly of urine, there is trash and food dropped in many places, and people running around the complex and yelling sometimes late at night. Not really the fault of the staff but you need to take this into account. This isn't the Grand Floridian. And regarding the value - be aware that whatever rate you're quoted - there are parking fees and resort fees that may or may not be included. I strongly suggest you check out the hotels website and go through the reservation process up to the point where you get a price - then you'll see exactly what the resort and other fees will be for your party.
Jewelry stolen from my room, bathroom had mold, broken furniture, food in bed from previous people, no towels, and given the wrong room with no care to correct. Filed report with hotel about jewelry but they didn't bother to comp or really do anything about any of it. They filed a claim with their insurance for my stolen jewelry but the claim was denied because no previous complaint about the cleaning lady. So that's it - I'm screwed and nothing is being done diamond earrings that were taken! Husband saved 2 kids from drowning in "adult" pool and hotel didn't say or do anything. Absolutely horrible experience!! Devastated!
Arrived on Thursday, checked out on Friday. My first point of contact was the guy in the guard station to let me into the parking lot. He guided me exactly where I needed to go, which I thought was wonderful. Enjoyed the pool/water park all day on Friday. Forgot my toothbrush and toothpaste, so I called the front desk on Thursday evening to say I had forgotten them and request that one be brought to my room. I was informed they were out and then they hung up. That was no help! Love the Keurig in our room prior going to breakfast. The breakfast buffet Friday morning was amazing! We all had so much wonderful food that we enjoyed very much.About 3 PM on Friday afternoon, the lagoon pool was closed for an unexpected cleaning. We of course later found out that someone had poo'd in the pool. EW! Gross but not the resort's fault. KIM from Puerto Rico at the oasis pool was extremely helpful getting us whatever we needed on Friday!MUSTAFA A lifeguard at the lagoon pool, was very helpful to us on Thursday night. All of the lifeguards seemed to do a great job.Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience. We were offered a very wonderful check out special, which we took advantage of. We look forward to coming back next year.
