Nickelodeon Suites Resort
- What's Included
We stayed there from May the 10th to the 20th, with my wife and a 7-year-old daughter, we loved every second there, staff is very kind and helpful, the rooms are very comfortable with plenty of space, food choices are ok since there's a marketplace offering hotel's restaurant (Breakfast buffet $13.5 adults and $6.5 kids approx.) and bar but also there's a pizza and sandwich place, and even a Starbucks. It has a mini-shop where you can get basic stuff, beverages, toys, and souvenirs. We did 3 parks with one day in between so we needed a hotel with a nice pool area to enjoy those days, although weekends the place can get very crowd, the pool is big enough to not be bothered by anyone else, the pool staff is always watching for aggressive behaviors so you can spend a great time with your kids. The water slides are a cool add, I thought this was for kids only but you can get on and try them too, fun stuff. The 3d theater and laser maze game are not included for hotel guests, we didn't try it.Hotel's location is perfect and offers free transportation to Disney / Universal parks, we did Uber from Magic Kingdom to the hotel for $12.00.You can tell the hotel has its years now but everything is under excellent conditions.General speaking, it was a great experience that we all enjoyed and definitively would come back.
I was traveling for business and actually booked this hotel due to it's proximity to my meeting place. I stayed in a King Suite with a Full Kitchen for the price of nearby hotels. The room was recently renovated and looked very nice. The bathroom was a little older and there was a little mold in the shower but nothing crazy for hot and humid Florida. What blew me away was that there was a small food court attached to the hotel and two pools with a water slide. Parking was $12, which kind of threw me but I guess all hotels that close to Disney charge for parking. I wouldn't recommend this place for business travel as I felt very out of place but would go back with the family.
Stayed here in March. We has a double or queen bed in our bedroom. The kid's bedroom had bunk beds with the bottom being a double bed. Also, I think the couch opened into a bed. This would be an ideal place to stay with a bunch of kids.
I booked this hotel as part of a package with airline tickets. Shortly before the trip, I read several negative reviews and actually tried to change my hotel. The airline did not allow changes, so I had to stick with this place. We checked in shortly after midnight, there was only one couple checking in ahead of me and they were finishing up. The gentleman who checked me in was very polite and professional. He asked what floor we preferred and finished the process. It didn't take long at all and the room was ready. Overall the room was clean, the only noticeable "dirt" was the white grout on the white bathtub tiles was starting to mold. I attribute this more to bad choice of tile than an unclean room. The room layout was perfect for a small family. Separate room with bunkbed for the kids, bedroom for the parents, living room with kitchenette, all with their own TV. There was no noticeable outside noise, but we were on the opposite side of the resort from the pool area. Our room was cleaned each day and we were given plenty of towels. Our 5 year old loved the pool area and arcade. Overall, it was a great trip.
We stayed here in attempt to save money during our time at Universal and I guess it served its purpose somewhat. Like other hotel chains or resorts they raise the prices of their restaurant selections (which is very mediocre at best) and charge a fee to park which is cheaper than Universal resort fee of 25.00 per day! If you want to keep some of your belongings in a safe you can rent a safe for an additional cost; why expect anything less? We took the shuttle to the park to save time and yes money which was convenient however our last night the bus driver never showed which left several families stranded at Universal. Not only did we patiently wait for 1.5 hours while getting eaten alive by mosquitoes but hotel staff began ignoring our calls; we only wanted to know if we needed to wait a little longer or take a taxi which we ended up doing. The next day Holiday Inn's resolve was to waive the parking fee which was fine however we didn't get the apology or explanation we deserved, which in my book speaks volumes for any business. Don't expect a great nights sleep, the walls are paper thin and you WILL hear the pitter-patter of tiny feet running across your ceiling; it's adorable at 10pm but highly annoying by 2am. On the plus side the hotel is modern, beds are comfortable, rooms are clean, and if you are traveling with 18+ there is an adult pool with small jacuzzi and bar however this is not enough to bring me back to this awful experience.
