Oak Plantation Resort
- What's Included
Stayed 2 nights and 3 days. The room was clean and nothing was dirty. The staff was friendly and fun. Even though it was superbowl, the room was quiet and we had a view of the forest as we woke up from our window. The last night my husband made dinner in their full kitchen and we forgot salt. The front desk sent salt to us right away.
Upon arrival the room smelled like someone had dumped a bottle of air freshener and it caused an instant headache. The room was old, incredibly dingy and rundown but we decided it was bearable. We stayed on the ground floor, and on our 3rd night of our stay guests checked in above us. They were extremely rowdy kids who were running so much the pictures in our room almost fell off the walls. We called the front desk multiple times trying to get the situation resolved. The second call we were met with an attitude of "there's nothing we can do, let them have time to settle down" at midnight while we were trying to sleep. We were told by the front desk staff to deal with it and if we needed to we should just request a room change...after midnight on a Wednesday night when we had plans to be up early the next morning. On our last night the bathroom ceiling started leaking excessively. I understand it was an affordable place to stay, and I would not have minded if it was just dingy and a little dated, but this was absolutely outrageous. We felt unwelcomed, uncared for and ultimately unsafe as we were unsure if the leak would stop.
I really enjoy my stay here . I don't understand how people can be so negative about a 3 star accommodation ! I think they are expectant of a 5 star at a 3 star price! Our place is clean, spacious and very affordable. I would stay here again in a heartbeat if I needed to stay in this area again. We had a one bedroom unit on ground level. Yes the carpet is old and dingy but I've stayed in deluxe condo/villa rentals costing 5X the price that were worse than this. Let's not forget that some of these units are privately owned and are not upkeep by the resort. So just ask questions and state your intentions and see what you get !! I posted a pic of our visitor we had! Lol
Yes, this place is disappointing. Run down and showing it's age. It has a musty kind of feeling. Carpets look dingy. Kitchen area seemed fine and adequately equipped. Front staff is friendly. Pillows flat like pancakes.
Too old, too dirty, too neglectful, just too much wrong to stay here. Only had a third of towels we were supposed to have. Safe in closet was broken. Gap in door big enough to let in cockroaches the size of splenda packets. Have pictures, but I think the words are enough!
