Great suite and loved the variety of eating establishments and things to do. I spend a week here every year with work and enjoy the space with pool, walking trail and eating/drinking establishment. Food better than most in conference center.
I would not normally be able to stay at a luxury hotel, but as this was the location for my conference, I wanted to be at the event venue and we received a group discount so I could just manage. The hotel is really beautiful and the staff could not do enough to make me comfortable. From my first contact by phone from England to my last farewell on the day, each person went out of their way to my stay a pleasant one. The new Food Pantry allowed me to purchase delicious vegetarian options at a price I could afford and at the speed I needed! The bedroom was quiet and spacious, the beds were very comfortable, and the room was serviced every day giving us lots of extra coffee. There was a really useful grab rail in the bathroom that allowed me to hold on when stepping in the tub to have a shower. A fridge was brought to me for my use and when the television didn't work it was quickly replaced. Although I am a budget traveller, I really enjoyed being in the luxury of this hotel. Whilst it would not be a place I would normally choose, as it was the venue for the 5-days, it helped that I could go to my room to rest between events. I appreciated three staff members so much that I have written especially to the Manager to praise them! It was a bit cold in the Conference Center rooms that we used (apparently the air conditioning was broken ON!), but we were provided lots of blankets by the hotel to keep wrapped up! I did have a delicious drink in High Velocity, as well as a yummy meal in Siro (half portion vegetarian Puttenesca that was just the right amount of food). The lobby has a lovely water feature and the lifts take you up to the 28th floor in a jiffy to see the gorgeous view. All in all, from start to finish, I had a wonderful time there.
I stayed at this hotel recently for a conference. It was a wonderful stay with a gorgeous view nightly over the laser show and the disney fireworks in the distance. Only in Orlando... The hotel is very large but the service is great! A large variety of restaurants to eat from. The velocity bar and grill has great margherita flatbread. Hawk's Landing Steakhouse & Grille has superb steaks and outstanding service. A little pricey though. This is definitely a wonderful place to stay! They do overdo the air conditioning, so keep a sweater handy. Magnificent pool area! A really fun couple of days. Thanks to all the wonderful staff from check in to those supplying lunch at the conference to the restaurant staff too.
We arrived at this hotel for a dance conference the week of US Thanksgiving. Here are my thoughts:-comfortable, clean beds-North Tower has view of fireworks in the distance at Disney parks which was nice-all the staff was friendly, helpful and in our case, responsive-when we needed to be moved to another room (our room didn't have a safe and they didn't have one to bring to us), I asked nicely for our room to be upgraded and was obliged-refrigerator brought to our room didn't cost anything extra, the first one brought had a problem with it so they replaced it quickly-free internet if you attach your Marriott Rewards account number to the room reservation-used Uber to go everywhere...you can avoid paying the resort fee if all you want it for is Disney shuttling-approx Uber prices: $9 to grocery store (Publix near Vineland Premium Outlets), $9-11 Magic Kingdom, $7-8 Disney Hollywood Studios-had an erroneous charge for Valet service on our bill at checkout; they logged the vehicle as the Uber car which dropped us off but they removed that fee without a hassle-Christmas decorations went up overnight and were gorgeous-hotel staff worked night and day building a real gingerbread house -the "Pantry" on the first floor is open 24 hours, has beer, liquor, ice cream, hot drinks, snacks, hot food (e.g. fries), breakfast items (cereals, baked goods)-there is a microwave in the Guest Laundry room-laundry is $2.00 per load, soap and change machines are in the laundry room-there are no common areas where you can toast your own bagels/food-sat at the pool bar to have lunch but it took too long for service so we left and made lunch in our room-didn't go to any of the restaurants because our groceries went further-shout out to Beneditto at the check-in desk who was fantastic and to Dean who is technically a driver but wears a lot of hats since he's been there so long. Fantastic people who care about your stay.-it's a quarter mile from the North Tower 19th floor down to the ballrooms/conference area-the North Tower 19th floor is incredibly cold in the hallway. Whenever we wanted to cool our room down, we just opened the door for a few minutes to let the cold air in.I would recommend this hotel to friends.
We were there for 7 nights for a conference and we froze (seriously... we are from Canada and we had to wear our heaviest clothing we brought with us... with scarves!). I have never been so cold for so long in all my life. One lady in our group could not attend the event one afternoon because she was ill from being so cold. What boggles my mind is why we received literally cartloads(!) of blankets each day (although not enough for everyone) instead of just turning the air conditioning down a bit. So... they've wasted money on laundry AND wasted money on keeping the room freezing cold. Like I said, it boggles my mind. Where is the common sense in that? The evening before we left we were in a restaurant drinking hot water and lemon trying to get warm. My body tends to run very warm so I usually enjoy a little fresh air but this was way beyond fresh! If the cold had not had such a negative impact on our whole stay I could be more positive... like the friendly staff and the cleanliness of the resort. Everything else was really quite good so, while I really dislike giving poor reviews, I feel because of such discomfort I have to give this resort a less-than-perfect rating.
