Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando
- What's Included
This is what it says on the tin, well located for the iride and buses, free shuttle to universal, good location for restaurants and bars. On site 3 pools and snacks and bar all good. Rooms are a good size just a touch dark so it was difficult to get ready. No shower gel provided so pack that. Close to supermarket so you save money rather than the shop. If you need a cab from universal it's only 12 dollars as the shuttles are only at set times. By the light bites snack place there are squirrels they like Doritos
We stayed here to attend a convention at the Orange County Convention Center. This hotel offered a very economical rate and it was located within a short walking distance from the center. A convenient shuttle to the International Drive businesses and restaurants is available. Many restaurants, a drug store and other businesses/attractions are close by. We found the room to be clean and satisfactory. We would liked to have been provided a complimentary continental breakfast but that i not the case here. An onsite restaurant and bar are in its complex. The room itself had recently been refurbished but the tub had not been. The in-tub assist bar was not convenient . All the rooms have outside access only.
Just had a 5 night stay at the Rosen Inn Point Orlando. Stayed with my 10yr old daughter. Got a great deal thru Universal Studios...$89 per person a night which included tickets to the park, with early admission. Really no complaints about the hotel. The only drawback is the included shuttle service to the park ends at 11:15am and from the park doesn't start till 4:30pm. We took the 7:40 every morning but never lasted till 4:30...hot, tired, wanted pool time. We would Uber back which was around $6. Great location, walked each evening to multiple restaurants. Very clean, maid service everyday, and nice to have a fridge & microwave in each room. 3 adequate pools. Typical on site restaurant, with breakfast buffet for $8.95 pp, which we used once, and was decent. Would definitely return. One more thing, on site store is pricey for snacks, drinks etc...which is expected. However, there is a CVS within 150 yds of the parking lot, where you can grab whatever is needed. All & all well worth the price I paid for the package.
Hubby & I stayed here both March 2015 (for our Honeymoon) and March 2016 for our anniversary and a birthday trip and we have loved both stays. The rooms have all your basic requirements covered. Generally, they are made up of 2 double beds although I believe there is an option for 1 king size bed however, you have to request when checking in and we have not been fortunate enough to get one which did mean we spent most of our Honeymoon sleeping in separate beds however.. the layout is standard for rooms in Orlando and we were fine with this. You have the facility to make coffee in your room and a good size fridge should you wish to store any food/drink. We didn't really use this a great deal so can't really comment as to standard but it was a good size. The bathrooms could do with a little updating but they are clean and fit for purpose (and I also believe there have been some remodelling works since our last stay anyway). If you are anything like us you are not staying for the luxury and you get what you expect in terms of the from this hotel but as most of the day is spent out exploring, the rooms are fine. Where the hotel proved its worth for us in this respect was the ability to get food no matter what time you eventually made it back to the hotel. The restaurant is open until I believe 21:00 which serves your main buffet meals, we didn't get a chance to sample these but they looked like they provided a good range of food with a different theme every night. However if you get back later, which we always did, you can order food from the bar until around 23:00 and if all else fails there is 24/7 shop in the lobby with a range of items you can either make yourself to salads/sandwiches or hotdogs, nachos etc. so you are able to get something whenever you need it.The hotel also offers a free shuttle to Universal which we took advantage of many times, the drivers are excellent, really friendly and take a lot of time to explain everything so you know how to get back easily. We did not make use of any of the other hotel facilities as we were out more than in but the hotel always seemed perfectly clean and the pools got good use without being overcrowded. The staff in this hotel have always been super friendly and helpful and with a prime location on Idrive.. we wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying here and we would stay again!
I would never have stayed here had I known my room is only accessible from outside. As a woman traveling alone, I consider this a security issue. It was also a very long walk from the office to the building with my room. I checked in close to 1am and my key did not open the door. So here I am outside, alone, in the middle of the night trying to get into my room. I had to walk back with all of my stuff to the office and hike back with security guy. Not cool at all. Next conference I will be making sure room access if from indoors!Additionally I booked a king, only to be told at check in that they give the kings away first come first served and I would have 2 doubles. Hmmm I reserved it and it was available to reserve, that is first come, first served! Ridiculous.
