Rosen Shingle Creek
- What's Included
On arrival the valet service is met with a certain attitude, make sure you tip the right amount or you will get some lip service !. The valet seems to be outsourced to a third party company and staffed with teenagers that do not understand how a valet service should operate. As you enter the property you are not sure if it the hotel is open or closed, it is a very drab set of automated doors from a 1980 theme park ride and very dim. Hence are we open or closed here.Checkin was smooth and the staff were friendly and efficient. I was assigned a room initially on the front side of the hotel facing the valet and bus parking area. The room was on the lowest floor in the hotel and at the end of a very long corridor. It was a pretty horrible room, facing the outran for the restaurants below. Once I returned to the reception desk and asked for another room, I was moved to a rear facing room that overlooked the golf course and was very quiet. The room was clean and well appointed, nothing exceptional just a typical conference hotel room, and the bathroom was clean and well appointed. The WIFI in the room was reasonable , you could see the large device under the desk so I had good connectivity. Now to the real bug about the rooms, is the the housekeeping staff. They seem to communicate by yelling and shouting down the corridors to each other, and have yet to discover a door wedge instead choosing to use the security latch to keep the vacant rooms open, hence loud banging everytime they went in and out of the rooms either side.Room Service - super expensive, was pretty surprised at the pricingNow if you are on vacation be prepared for this to be a very conference focused property. The conference space is huge and built for large conference events. The hotel has a good selection of restaurants that are mainly located on a promenade walkway from reception to the conference zone. The bars in the property are expensive and too small for large groups in the hotel. In terms of food give the sushi restaurant a try, really good quality and great serviceThe property has a 24 hour market on the lower lobby level that is open 24 hours a day, and is well stocked. Honestly if you have a car drive out the property and go across to the Publix across the street if you care to as it half the price. If you like connivence then the market is perfect optionNote self parking this is charged for each night no free self parkingOverall typical conference hotel nothing special and pretty expensive for what is delivered for that room price
We had a great experience with Rosen Shingle Creek! We booked through Priceline and it was a great experience. We needed to be close to the convention center and this fit the bill. A $6 Uber ride and we were there! Also only about 20 minutes from Disney if you're looking for that. The staff was INCREDIBLY friendly and bent over backwards to help anytime we needed anything. We can't say enough about our experience, we loved it and would definitely stay here again!!
We spent the second week of our fortnight holiday here, after spending the first at Art of Animation resort on Disney, and it was a great choice. It is predominantly a conference/business/golf trip hotel, but that isn't a problem with great pools for kids and grown ups, and a choice of restaurants to suit different tastes and budgets. The onsite shop is obviously more expensive compared to the supermarket across the road on Universal Boulevard, but not excessively over-priced. We had a slight mix-up on check in which was no particular hassle and not the hotels fault, but they still upgraded us to an executive suite and the manager called with the offer of a free breakfast, which was very much appreciated. We didn't hire a car whilst there and had no problems, using Uber to get around. Very quick, easy, and relatively cheap at around $13 to get to the further Disney parks. I would definitely recommend this either as a base for all of the Orlando attractions, or as a complement to a Disney on-site hotel.
My family stayed at the Rosen for 3 nights. Great hotel with several great restaurants. I have stayed at several resorts in Orlando and the Rosen Shingle Creek would be one of my favorites. The employee staff are very friendly, showed good hospitality and accommodating to our needs. The location is conveniently close to the themeparks. We had a standard double bed that was comfortable which seemed standard. It had a small frig. Wish microwaves was standard for late nights returning to the rooms or warming leftovers. Looking forward to returning in the fall.
We had a lovely 3 night stayconsits big and busy - the car park got busy so it was a 5 min walk on some days especially when there is a conferenceprosexcellent location - very quiet and attractive - easy to get to Universal - you turn right and keep going on Universal blvd for 10-15 minfantastic pools and facilitiesstaff very helpful - esp Regina at check in and check out - thank youeverything spotlessly clean and workedpool and jacuzzi area open 6am to 12 MD - but you will not hear anythingNB we booked through netflights and were NOT charged for self parkingnice mix of holiday makers and conference goerswe also stay at the Cabana onsite at Universal and if you add the $20 Universal parking charge I would probably stay here instead
