Sheraton Vistana Resort
- What's Included
The Front desk was really rude, as in instead of calling a guest by their name, they'll yell at you "lady look!" They don't have a dab of communication between any of their departments. The photo is of their service.
Overall, we had a great time at Sheraton Vistana Resorts Villas. We were a group of 7 (2 Families) and had 2 - 2 Bedroom Villas next door to each other on the first floor of Bldg. 4 in the Lakes Section. I appreciate that the Sheraton was able to accommodate our request to be on the same floor of the same building in either the Cascades or Lakes section with 2 different check-in dates. And they were next door which was even better. We were not sure if we would like the first floor, but it was fine. We could occasionally hear the people walking above us, but not often and it did not bother me.The room: The layout was spacious, very nice, and so were the furnishings. The kitchen was very nice with all the standard items, though a few pieces could have been replaced. The skillets were non-stick, but the other pots were metal so we had some sticking issues even with the oil. I brought my favorite 10 inch pan with lid with me so I just did not use those anymore. Large granite counters and all standard appliances. There was seating for 8 (6 at the table and 2 at the breakfast bar). The couch was very comfortable with 2 side chairs. The tv was a large flat screen with a DVD player in the living room, a flat screen TV was in each of the 2 bedrooms, with HDMI hookups easy access for any electronics you bring with you. The master bath had 2 vanities, Jacuzzi tub, and walk-in shower. Master bedroom had king size bed, safe, additional set of sliding doors to the screened in porch. Our view was nice of the pond with fountain and pool on other side. 2nd bedroom had 2 Full size beds (doubles). The unit has a washer and dryer. There is a mid week freshening with new towels. The property is gated and is a very extensive community. There are 2 separate sections, and you have access to all of it. The location is very convenient to the airport, I-4, Disney Parks and Disney Springs. There is a super Walmart just down the road, a Walgreens right outside the gates, and several restaurants that are very convenient, in addition to all the amentities on property (4 restaurants, mini-golf, 7 pools, bikes, jogging trail, tennis, etc.)The only down side we had was the beds are a little firmer than we prefer and no ceiling fan in the bedrooms. Rooms are cold enough, but my husband likes an active breeze while he sleeps. Plus, we had a leak in the water supply line to the freezer so we had water in the fridge a couple days until we turned it off. On Friday, they ran out of towels at the pool so we had to go to the next one to bring some back. This is a time share property so they will ask if you want to attend. We said no and they left us alone after that. There is not daily housekeeping. They do recycle at this property. All the staff was courteous. Bartenders were great. We would stay at Sheraton Vistana resorts again and we would request the Lakes Section. We did enjoy it and were comfortable overall. the Lakes section and the Cascades sections have elevators. The other sections do not.
I visited this Sheraton in November when I got engaged. During my last stay, I was asked to join the SPG plan ( A Vacation club for Sheraton) I truely enjoyed my stay, and was considering joining. They offered me a trail and a free 4 day stay at a later date. I enjoyed the plan and was trying to convince my , now fiance, to agree. We scheduled another trip here, and were asked to attend a return SPG meeting to determine if we wanted to join officially. I was so excited to return, pestering my fiance about joining the whole way down. However, our experience this time was NOT ideal. After waiting in a long line. We were greeted my Fantasia, she was very nice and looked up our room. This is were things got bad. For resions unknown to me(and it seems to them as well) my reservation was split in two. Because of this I had two rooms. I asked why this was and Fantasia was honest and said that she didn't know , but she would find out. She called someone on the phone whom yelled at her for asking about the mix up. She then tried to explain that they had no other rooms. As this was not ok. I asked to see a manager. Whom also said there was nothing they could do besides a downgrade to the room , again, I was a scheduled for a meeting about his SPG plan later this week so this was not a good look. I asked if there was any way to stay in one room as we had reservations we needed to make, and changing rooms was a big incovince. He had to leave a few times makeing the wait even longer. Fantasia was the only thing keeping me calm as she tried to show the other room they were offering online so I had an idea of what the downgrade would look like. In the end , and after a considerable time. The manager came out and gave us a beautiful room for the whole stay. I would advise calling the resort and meticulously reviewing your stay before you travel. I will say if it wasn't for Fantasia being calm and trying to explain what was going on . I would be leaving a much lower score. I will most likely not be joining SPG.
Just a heads up...there are no elevators. We were on the 3rd floor (top floor) so not bad but with luggage and groceries in the hot sun..not fun. Also, outside there were spiders and bugs. They should spray. But inside it was great. Soft comfy beds and covers and pillows. But the vents in our room were shut so we had to manually open them. That was probably the reason why it was hot in the room. They came in to clean which was nice. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again!
This resort was a wonderful place to stay. The staff was most helpful and sincerely friendly. I had called a week prior to arrival and was offered so much help and advice for our time in Orlando. Resort was very clean, quiet and relaxing. Most enjoyable. Thank you!
