We have just returned from a 2 week stay at Sheraton Vistana resort and it was great. We were there on an exchange with RCI with a gift certificate from my in laws. 2 weeks before I phoned the resort and asked that the two weeks were linked so we kept the same unit and then I requested to be in close proximity to the pool but also asked to be in a quiet location as I knew we were in the fountains section and the fountains pool would be open til 1 am. The lady said she would do her best to ensure all our requests were met. When we arrived check in was quick and easy, maybe because I had phoned ahead and there was no time share sales pitch much to my relief. Our requests had also been met we stayed in the fountains section building 8 apartment 1448 top floor with sky light (beware there is no lift and 3 flights of stairs) 2 bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms and full kitchen. It was a great location 1 minute walk one way round basketball court to fountains pool and Tacky Tiki Bar or go other way round basketball court and 2 minutes to Lakes pool. This resort is huge but it is clean and all staff were very helpful and polite. I would definitely stay here again in the future and recommend to friends and family.
Best resort I have ever visited- wonderful roomy and well-stocked villas, seven great pools, several nice casual restaurants and friendly staff! We had a wonderful time on site and at several of the nearby attractions. Try it, you'll love it!
My son in law's family has a timeshare here, so he and my daughter were going to go to DisneyWorld. They invited me and my wife and we took the offer. After a long drive, we arrived. It wasn't a hassle at all, the staff all were friendly and kind toward us, and when we got to the villa, I WAS BLOWN AWAY. I loved it, it was better than my current house, ( I live in Mid Atlantic, so that's obvious) it had a huge TV, great space, a beautiful view, and it's not too far from supermarkets, or restaurants such as Wendy's and McDonald's. We were only supposed to stay the weekend, but I love it so much, we've booked it until the 27th of August, we are currently staying here, and there has been nothing wrong with it thus far. I'll edit the review in that time if anything goes wrong.
We had originally booked our exchange through RCI to stay at Orange Lake but signed up for automatic upgrade should a larger unit or higher graded resort become available. 2 weeks before our arrival we were upgraded to same-sized unit at the Sheraton. We were there 5 or so years ago and were pleased so we were looking forward to returning. Upon check-in I was initially disappointed in the location of our Villa - the older "Courts" section - as we had last stayed in the newer "Fountains" section, and the map made it look like we were far from things. You can tell by both the exterior and interior that they had been refurbished but the interior was definitely a "downgrade" to the Fountains section. However, after a day of staying, I started looking past the "downgrade". The unit itself was extremely spacious as it is set up as a 2-story townhouse (NOTE: if you are not a fan of stairs and are assigned a 2nd floor Courts villa, you will have to climb stairs to the villa, then have the stairs inside). The kitchen was large and had all the amenities needed for the type of meals we made. The master bedroom, bath and laundry area were large and off to one side while the cathedral ceiling living room was off to the other. The 2nd bedroom and bathroom were up the very nice wooden staircase along with a loft. My teen and tween loved the independence and privacy. The beds were twins though, not full. Although the sound of the TV traveled because of the high living room ceiling, the 2nd bedroom was off a separate "foyer/hallway" area so when you closed the hallway door, you still could close the bedroom door thus blocking the sound but if someone was using the sofa bed in the loft, the sound definitely travels. Our unit was overall very clean - we had a few minor issues we addressed with housekeeping. I also determined after a day that I really liked the location of the villa. We did not need to drive around the complex (except to go to the "Escape Room", in the Fountains area, which my kids absolutely loved and talked about for days) as we were steps away from the Marketplace (very nice), 3 pools, 2 restaurants, bars, mini-golf, gyms and arcade. We were also close to the 2nd entrance onto 535 so it was a quick drive in and out. Although we prefer staying in the eastern portion of the Kissimme/LBV resort area in whole, the traffic on 535 and I-4 was awful everyday....2-3 times a day and there is really no getting around it unless you use International Drive to the parks (either Disney or Universal). For Disney access, its easy, but you will have traffic lights if heading east to Universal, but it beat the crawling traffic on I-4. A friend was staying at Orange Lake and although the resorts are only several miles away, it would take about 25-30 minutes to get there because of 192 traffic. Long story short - if you are driving around, add a lot of travel time for traffic. Back to the resort, the staff was very friendly and courteous and the grounds kept very clean. A few times there were no pool towels so be sure to grab some and keep them at your unit. I wish I took pictures of the interior because they would be much different than you see for the different buildings and it appears that the pictures used in advertisements are of the newer units (of course, so you want to stay there). If we ever stay there again, I would consider requesting either the Courts or Cascades section because of the proximities mentioned above.
