Sheraton Vistana Resort
- What's Included
The resort itself was very nice, but we had a number of issues such as the hot and cold water were reversed on the kitchen sink, the cables from the DVD player were not connected correctly to the tv, the bathroom door hinge was loose so it wouldn't close, I couldn't get messages from the phone etc. However, when I called, maintenance came almost immeadiately and fixed every issue and they even gave me some Starwood points as way of apologizing.
Booked a one bedroom through Global Discovery Vacations. Fountains Unit had everything we needed with exception to only having one tiny mirror in the bathroom. The Sheraton bed was amazing. Resort is massive, grounds are nice. Pools are terrific. Spent a lot of time at the tiki bar. Decent food at decent prices, friendly bartenders. Lots of activities and accommodations - live music, evening movies at the pool. Called the front desk twice, they were helpful in answering my questions. Did not attend any sales pitches or answer the room phone. Got my morning Starbucks latte from the market. Ideal proximity to the parks and MCO.
We stayed here for one night, thinking we were booked at a similar Sheraton Vistana - there are two - this is Sheraton Vistana Resort. There is another - Sheraton Vistana Villages. Both are timeshare properties and they are about 2 miles apart. I booked at this resort when I should have booked at the other resort. My e-mail confirmation did not have the address on it - which is odd, but something I didn't catch. This hotel was very gracious about getting me booked at the other resort and both resorts were accommodating. Both told me, as did Sheraton phone reservations, that getting these two properties mixed up is very common. Sheraton should do something about that. I doubt they will.I stayed at both properties. Both properties were more interested in getting me to see a timeshare presentation than anything else. It was ridiculous and perhaps a deal breaker for me to stay at either property again. I have never had this problem with Marriott or Westin timeshares and I hope that when the two properties merge, Marriott and Westin (realizing Westin is part of Sheraton before the merger) this doesn't become a problem at Marriott or Westin. The property is nice - we had a one bedroom. The property is approx 150 acres, which several pools restaurants and plenty for kids to do. Rooms were clean. We had the breakfast buffet. It was a little pricey as everything at Disney is, but it was fine. They have a free shuttle service to get you around the property. The room is spacious and quiet - everything in good working order. Full kitchen and bath and a decent sized lanai. A good choice for families as there are all kinds of kid activities here.
This was an excellent stay!! A very warm friendly atmosphere. The customer service given at check-in provided by Shy was like none other. She was very knowledgeable as it related to the stay and it made me feel more than welcomed. I️ will definitely stay at this location again.
This was our 2nd time at this resort and we had another great time. We aren't time share people, so we just paid for 5 nights in a 2 bedroom through SPG. Great villa, with plenty of space for my family (wife and two girls- 4 and 2). This was an R&R trip for us, so we just did the pools each day, which was great. I highly recommend the lakes/fountains area for families with small kids. Almost all units are close to the main pool (some other areas of the huge resort could be a 10-15 minute walk. We ate at the resort a few times for lunch and dinner. The food is so-so, but reasonably priced. This isn't a Ritz Carlton, but definitely a a great family friendly hotel with good staff and clean/large rooms. I highly recommend.
