Sheraton Vistana Villages
- What's Included
We checked in at 3am Sunday morning after a horrendous delay due to our Jetblue flight. Check in was a breeze and we were given a 1br suite in the Bella section Building 3. Upon opening the door the Musty, Moldy mildew scent that hit us was disgusting to say the least. What was even more horrifying was the frame around the door lock was broken (yeah). I knew this was not going to work for us. My hubby somehow got the door to close but I did not feel secure so I called the front desk and spoke to Derrick. I told him about the door lock and the stench and he told me someone would call me at 8am. What the Heck????!!!! Call me at 8, your lock is broken you need to relocate us now. Whatever, Hubby and son went to sleep in the living room with yours truly as security guard sitting by the entry door; up since 5am the day before. Thankfully the internet worked while I waited until 7:30 and called the hotel directly on their 407 line from my mobile phone. Woke my guys up because we were moving. Yippeee! Beverly at the front desk apologized for Derrick and the condition of the room and gave us a room in the St. Augustine section. She was a joy, very pleasant and helpful. Went to the other room and it was so much better and we had a bigger balcony, no moldy smell and most importantly no broken door lock! Great, as luck would have it, the room did not have an oven only a stove-top and a microwave. That usually is not a problem but the reason we were in Orlando was to celebrate the 10th b-day and I needed an oven to bake his cake, yikes. I went back to the front desk, this was about 11:30am now and was accommodated by the gem of an agent Wislande affectionately called "Wis" by her coworkers. I explained the birthday cake situation and that I already changed rooms so I understand if nothing was available. Well, "Wis" punched into her computer, messaged another coworker and we were given a suite with an oven. This room was incredible. Huge granite island w/seating, nice dining table, living room and a huge balcony. Huge, separate rooms for the tub , shower, and toilet. The bed was very comfortable also. The only issue was the water temperature in the shower, but everything else was great. Sheraton Vistana Villages did not disappoint. With the exception of Mr. Derrick who clearly needs a little more training, our stay was well met and wonderful. Thanks to Beverly and the awesome Wislande we had a great 10th b-day vacay in Orlando. Will def' stay here again but only in the St. Augustine or the South Beach sections upon it's completion. We are Starwood Gold members.
My family just completed a 5 Day/4 Night stay; and loved every minute of our vacation.Room - We stayed in a One Bedroom Premium Villa, room 25502 in the St. Augustine building #25. The room came with an island breakfast bar, separate dining area for six, jacuzzi tub, stand up glass shower, balcony with seating for dinner and a washer/dryer. We also had a pool view which was great; that particular building also gave direct access to the St. Augustine pool and fitness center.Staff - Before we even arrived, Liz who works in the Concierge area called me the week prior in order to set up any special requests that I had. Upon our arrival she checked us in quickly, discussed the property and gave us our welcome gift. She also went above and beyond when my daughters cast cover broke; she text me late that evening to ask if we had been able to find another at Walgreens because she'd stop at one of the hospitals to get one in the morning. I also had an amazing experience with Tia who also works in the same concierge area; as she was able to help me early one morning and was so pleasant. The best part of my trip was hands down Liz & Tia, it's very rare that you encounter people who are willing to help you and go the extra mile, they really do give SPG members VIP treatment. Grounds - The Villa we stayed in was pristine and definitely a newer one, everything was super clean. The hotel was at 98% capacity but you couldn't tell, we were able to obtain chairs late in the afternoon at both Bella pool and St. Augustine pool. We did some of the poolside activities and every time we walked the grounds I just kept telling my husband that the resort really was well kept. We also used the fitness rooms which were never really overcrowded; it didn't have any smith machines or leg press machines but there was enough equipment to be creative with your workouts.Timeshare - We did go to a presentation with Maria and she was really pleasant, explained everything very well. We almost purchased until my Husband did the math and calculated that the $12,995 we would pay was not inclusive of the other fees and interest which total would be $30,000. So we definitely opted out as it's a lifetime commitment and you can not sell a timeshare, it's practically impossible.Overall - My family will be adding this resort to our SPG list of places to go at least once a year. We loved it so much that I've already booked for August 2018.
We wanted to stay in the st augustine section because it comes highly recommended, however upon checking in we were told that there were no rooms available there which at first was very upsetting, however the front desk person Nick informed us about the bella section and how it was closer to the main pool and restaurant which is where we would be spending the majority of our time and recommended we try there and to check back in the morning to see if anything would be available in st augustine. We loved bella so much we decided to stay! Highly recommend
I have been an owner at the resort for the last 10 years and this has been my worse experience. I booked a 1-bedroom and they placed us in an old smelly lock off unit similar to a studio unit. I have stayed under Sheraton's Ownership in both a 1 bedroom unit and a 1- bedroom premium unit and this was obviously not either one of them. Tatiana my VIP Concierge needs training in Customer Service and was in my opinion a waste of time. Next time please allow me to check-in under normal circumstances at the front desk. The Marriott Leadership has obviously turned this four star property into a 2 star because based on the service I experienced it actually felt like this. Please my advice is to treat your owners with respect and don't fool them into thinking your studio unit was a 1 bedroom because we have seen all of your units when we bought the time share and we know what a 1 bedroom should look like. I will not recommend to buy a time share service from this company and was really disappointed at the room. I cannot believe that I paid all that money to be placed in a dump of a room. I should have taken my money and stayed at Holiday Inn because their service is way better. I hope I can be compensated for the points that I paid for a standard room. I would also like the hotel to check their security on credit cards because when I got back home I discovered that my credit card was hacked and used to make multiple purchases. I am absolutely sure the breach took place at this hotel since this was the only place that I used this card while on vacation. This review was sent about one month ago direct to the hotel and to date no one has reached out to me. The hotel is in a great location, great amenities but don't buy their time share because you will regret it.
Outstanding facility! Highly recommend! Great Service! We stayed for a full week in a 2 bedroom villa. The rooms were clean and well furnished. The pools are fantastic an everyone was extremely nice. We will return! Location is close to parks and shopping!
