We stayed here for one week after staying at Disney for our first week. The Sheraton Vistana is in a great location (we had a car) you are right in the middle of the parks, turn right and Seaworld is literally a 2 minute drive, Universal is 15 minutes, turn left and Disney is 10-15 minutes, you also have a Walgreens about 5 minutes away plus Walmart, I-Hop etc all very close by. We had booked a 2 bedroom apartment which was great but it did smell a bit musty and was a little old fashioned although everything was very clean. At check-in we were offered 60 dollars to "go green" and have no housekeeping so we decided to opt for this and the 60 dollars was credited to our room which we used in the restaurant. We were put in block 11 even though I had requested to be near the kids pool this was a bit of a walk away but we were literally a 1 minute walk from the main pool and restaurant which we ate at once and had a takeaway from twice (food was very nice). All in all we enjoyed our stay here, there were a few staff members who weren't the friendliest but others were nice. I have also seen other reviews here about staff being unfriendly! I think if the rooms were updated we would stay again.
Vistana Villages was a great base for our Orlando vacation. We spent five days at theme parks so only had one full day to enjoy the resort, but we loved pretty much everything about it!The resort itself is conveniently located on International Drive. We had a rental car (midsize SUV) so getting around was a breeze. I was a little worried about the traffic, but apparently October means less congestion with the exception of road construction areas. The resort is gated which felt safe. The landscaping is lush and beautiful, public spaces were quite nice, and all of the staff we came in contact with were smiling and helpful. We arrived around noon and knew check-in was at 4 so weren't expecting to get in the room. So we changed in the locker rooms and spent a couple hours at the pirate pool to relax after tedious hours of airports and flights. By then our rooms were ready - 1st floor at the end of the St. Augustine area (convenient to both the pirate pool and the main pool, but on the quiet side with a view of the lagoon and fountain). Our 6-yr-old grandson loved the pirate pool and waterslide so this was a great location. There was also an adjacent playground but we didn't have time to make use of it. We had a lock-off unit which is basically a smaller one-bedroom unit plus a larger one-bedroom unit with connecting doors. We had separation for privacy but also enough room in the larger living room for all of us to gather together. The units were clean and well-appointed (Total of 4 TVs, 2 kitchens, 2 dining rooms, 2 living rooms). I liked the subdued decor and the the layout of the rooms. Each unit had its own screened patio, and the larger bath was downright luxurious. After check-in we went to Walmart for supplies (groceries and any liquids we didn't want to carry on the plane). With full-size appliances we made use of the kitchen for breakfasts and snacks and for the day at the resort. We also made good use of the washer & dryer in our units. Having stayed in other Vistana resorts before, I knew this and only packed a carry-on, wearing the same 5 outfits (clean) multiple times (and used my black mesh top as a swimsuit coverup). Our first night we ate at Golden Corral - filling and good with enough variety to satisfy everyone 6 to 60. On the day at the resort we grilled steaks on the gas grills right outside our building and had our dinner including salad, baked potatoes and wine on the screened in patio of our unit. Another night we had pizza from the Domino's in the resort across the street. We had easy-fix but hearty breakfasts before heading out early on our Disney days (prepared muffins, toaster scramblers, frozen waffles, pre-cooked bacon, juice, milk & coffee). There were enough soap packets for running the dishwasher several times, and I brought extra laundry pods for the washer. If you're a coffee drinker you will want to bring some extra coffee pods. We brought water bottles along and filled them halfway each night to freeze. In the morning we finished filling them to take to the parks. They stayed cold most of the morning. We also were able to take snacks to the park including string cheese and fruit we kept in the fridge.Sunday was my son-in-law's birthday, and the staff presented him with a card they had all signed. So nice! With the freezer were were able to have ice cream with the cupcakes we bought at Walmart. He got a special button at Disney and he heard "Happy birthday, Tom!" all day!As a time-share owner at another Vistana resort, I agreed to the member "update" because of the recent takeovers and thought I might learn new information. Not so. It was a total waste of an hour of my time. The rep only wanted to sell me a pricey upgrade. Some resorts in the group genuinely update you on changes but this was not my experience here.I think the next time we do Disney we'll probably return to this resort. I really enjoyed it and maybe next time can spend more time enjoying the resort and its activities!
This place is good, very good, I'll cover important points below and the go into tips.ApartmentSpacious and roomy, spa bath, safe, kitchen (cooler, huge fridge and microwave) great location 10 mins from Disney.Yc with lots of hi channelsFacilitiesLots of pools (one for kids with small slides and entertainment)GymBar at pool and other places Restaurants (never really ate at them)Tennis - my son attended the performance tennis class, this was a good standard and he really enjoyed it (13 courts I think)Tips- We went to the sales pitch on new resorts/Rci - It's worth it for the gift and was it pushy in the slightest.- You can get a family photo for free- If you order pizza from outside resort you will need to go to front desk to collect it- we had a couple of small issues with ants....these were resolved very quickly- On site shop is expensive, walmart is about 4 mins in car.- Villa location is important. We were in palms, slightly dated decor and near the main road which was noisy, also a long way from all of the pools and recreation.- You get towels at the pools, just take room key for access.- Drinks at pool are expensive, take your own in a cool box- I had a parcel delivered to the hotel and was not charged by the mailroom for the delivery.Hope this helps. I really liked this place it's a great location and a nice place to stay.Pizza, ribs/chicken and chick-fil-a are walking distance.
I am staying at the sheraton vistana villages resort 12401 int drive. Be careful there are a few sheratons around here. This is a gated sheraton and I'm staying in a one bedroom apartment. The facilties in the room are all you need, wahing machine, frudge freezer, dish washer and hob. Maid srrvice daily and friendly. The pool area has a pool side bar with plenty of loungers, chairs, tables and shade if needed. There is plenty for children with slides in the pool as well and normally two to three lifeguards. The location is a little isolated if you don't want to drive, but is in no way a show stopper as the I ride stops right outside so does the lynx bus and failing that download uber app (cheap hire cars nation wide) and schedule a ride they'll be there in 5 minutes. It cost me $10 to travel from hotel to universal studios. All in all great stay and many thanks sheraton for a top job.
Stopped at n for a short stay after our cruise. Booked a 1 bedroom based on the nice looking pictures on website. Payed $184 a night. Room is clean and updated but does not come with a balcony and full kitchen like advertised on the website. When I question the front desk clerk the next morning I was told I booked a standard room and not a premium. Unfortunately this is not made clear when booking only a small note that some rooms have kitchens and balconies. Kind of a bait and switch. I have stayed in Orlando more times than I can count and always at a villa type room and have never ended up with a glorified hotel room instead. Front desk clerk also had a attitude on the phone.
