Sheraton Vistana Villages
- What's Included
Stayed at Sheraton Vistana Villages four nights in November. Truly enjoyed our stay. The condo was such an upgrade from a regular hotel room. We had a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, living room and a bedroom. The mattress was very comfortable. The furniture was clean and modern. The bathroom had both a walk in shower and a jacuzzi tub. So nice to relax after a day of walking the theme parks. The resort is conveniently located to shopping, restaurants, and Walt Disney World and Universal. You must have a car to get around, but everything is nearby.Would definitely recommend this resort.
We would like to take a minute from our vacation to leave a rave review for the staff and facilities at Sheraton Vistana Villages. Yes we are still here 3 more days till checkout.Ruthie: Owners' Personal Concierge. First Class. Made us feel at home, went above and beyond. Checked us in, got our parking passes, room keys, all while just appearing to be chatting with us and finding out our plans, advising us where to eat depending on what type of dining experience we were in the mood for.The day before Thanksgiving we stopped at the front desk to ask for a cookie sheet and an 8inch casserole dish. We were cooking and baking before Thanksgiving to avoid the rush and stress of it all. We got back to our room after the owners update and sitting on our counter, 3 cookie sheets and a casserole dish still in the wrapper. We were in the hot tub most nights until the 1:00am closing. Security came cruising around and were extremely polite and friendly yet still got us up and out.We have been here several times before and I must say everything has improved.
Stayed for 3 weeks end of October. We had an upgraded apartment. Opted out off house cleaning and received 10 dollar a day to spend onsite. Located in Building 23, 4th Floor, room 14. It was absolutely fantastic. My 7th trip to Orlando, stayed various places on International Drive, the phrase "your never in your room anyway" was normally our policy when booking hotels over there, but due to it being our Wedmoon we decided to try something a little more fancy. Now we have been spoiled rotted and will never use that phrase again. The room was spotless, modern furnishings, fantastic walk in shower, jacuzzi tub. Super comfy mattress, fully equiped kitchen, washing machine tumble dryer.. the room truely had everything you need. The restaurant served great food, and the Taste of the Keys cocktail was yum. Our savings from house keeping was spent in the shop on staple food items like milk bacon bread and oreos, and also in the restaurant for food - note it cant be spend on alcoholic beverages which would have maybe been nice to know before we drank ourselves silly on them darn nice cocktails, but a tiny setback. The pool area we mostly went in was by the main restaurrant/bar, really nice late at night when the sparkly lights are on and its quieter.Funnily enough the only time we got pestered for timeshare meetings was inside universal studios when one of the Sheraton guys handing out "free gift cards" attacked my partner in his wheel chair. The location was great for us, we knew it was at the quieter end, but definately need a car to make life easier as unlike further up international drive, its a bit of a trek to any strips of shops restaurants etc. Overall I loved the hotel and will definately never stay in just a room hotel again.
This is our third stay at the Sheraton Vistana villages. It is at the quieter end of International drive and very close to the Vineland outlets. The grounds are kept so clean and tidy as are the apartments. We stayed in building 25 on the fifth floor very close to the pirate ship pool which is ideal if you have small children.I love this resort and would recommend it to any one. The front desk staff are very welcoming and go out of their way to help with any queries, I really can't fault them.I would strongly advise people not to use the in room phones since I was charged $40.00 to make two very quick calls to my doctors surgery back in the uk after I became quite unwell. I was literally on the phone just a few minutes and dread to think what it would have cost us if we had been on there longer. I feel totally ripped off with this charge especially since when we stayed in a villa in Davenport it was free to call the uk. Local calls were much cheaper, being charged less than a dollar each time.Other than that I can't think of any negative things to say about the resort apart from myhusband was on the receiving end of a very rude minivan driver from the Sheraton which thought he was going to reverse into his minivan. Shouted at my husband quite abusively, not knowing we had a rear view camera and could see exactly how close we were to his bus! The resort is gated so does give you a feel of security which is comforting. There is an I-ride stop right outside the resort but find hiring a car much easier to get around. Some times you would wait half an hour for an I-ride bus to come along and then on the odd occasion it would be full so would have to wait again for the next bus. The roads are so clearly sign posted its very simple to get to Disney or Universal. All in all I would recommend the resort but for my self after feeling ripped off with the phone bill, I think we may look around for our next trip.
From beginning to end our time here was upsetting, staying 3 times before and loving the place to spending 3 years saving and looking forward to coming back and having my mum almost crying at reception. we requested 2 different blokes with top floors and got a totally different section with GROUND floor. we asked to move and was placed second floor in one of the old apartments which when your used to staying in the new ones was really upsetting. Really noisy people above. Room next to us was re-furb being done at 9am in the morning waking us all up with no pre-warning.one night come home and maintainace team was steam cleaning the patios at 11pm which is totally rude. Got a late check out which was nice of 4pm but had house keeping knock 2 times, then a lady rang from reception asking who gave us the check out. What the point of giving us this if its not recorded or this much hassle. Last day rang for porter to come and pick us up to help with luggage and no-one showed up which meant we had to flag down someone to help us, then lastly when checking out my mum mention that we wasn't happy with our stay and the reception didn't care, not asking once what was wrong or what could have happened to correct any of it. overall the standards at the sheraton are slipping, and from having loyal followers, in one trip you have lost us and next time we come in 2 years, we will be looking else where.
