Sheraton Vistana Villages
- What's Included
Me and my partner chose to stay here for two weeks when we were on holiday in Orlando. -Accommodation-We arrived to a lovely top floor apartment, which was very open plan and spacious. Everything was SPOTLESS, soo clean! I'm an absolute clean freak, I take cleaning wipes every time I go to a hotel, but didn't feel like I needed to here! We had two nice large flat screen TV's, one in the living area and one in the bedroom. We had a washer and a dryer + iron and board. We also had an electric stove, dishwasher and microwave over + a fridge/freezer. These were all so clean and in great condition. We had a jacuzzi bath tub too which was fun! We had spare pillows and sheets in the closet, and other cleaning tools such as brooms etc. So we were well equipped! Bed was very big and comfortable! We opted out of house keeping as there were only two of us and we keep things quite tidy anyway, so we were rewarded with food credits to spend in the grocery store in the resort which was nice (ice cream is excluded!) There are plenty of amenities available on request, such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, washing sponges, soap, washing powder, dish soap etc.Overall we loved the room! Very comfortable, cosy, well equipped and nicely decorated.-Location-The Sheraton villages are at the end of international drive, but there was a publix supermarket about 15 min walking distance, and a little bit further down were premium outlets, mcdonalds, outback etc. Going the other way toward international drive central there are more restaurants, CVS, Walgreens etc. We took the iRide trolley for the duration of the trip, and there is a stop right outside the complex of the hotel, which takes you up and down international drive! (Although I wouldn't recommend the iRide trolley, I think car hire would be easier) if you do take the car there is ample parking by the apartments. The actual complex is in beautiful surroundings of lakes and greenery and is full of ducks, birds, fish, and even turtles just to name a few! We spotted some really cool animals walking around the grounds!-Facilities-We stayed in the St Augustine villas, and we had a kids pool just near our room, we personally didn't use this as we weren't travelling with kids, but looked like everyone was having fun when we walked past, there were a few slides and a little play park nearby. We visited the other pool nearby, and the adjoining "quiet pool". Both very clean, nice temperature, and lovely areas to sunbathe. I believe there was another pool further away near some different buildings but we didn't visit this. They have a marketplace supermarket which sells basic frozen food, some fresh food, fruit/veg, toiletries, water, sandwiches, breakfasts, ice creams etc etc. Very pricey but OK for if you have food credit to spend and when you arrive late. It is handy to have nearby. There were cookout/BBQ stations near each building, which was great to see all the families enjoying a nice afternoon grilling!! -Staff-We didn't interact much with the staff whilst staying, but there were a couple of staff from reception who were very helpful when my partner lost his credit card and we had to phone home! We really appreciated their patience and helping us dial home!-Everything Else-There was a free shuttle bus to Disney World, however you have to remember to pre book the outward journey 24 hrs before. The times are a bit strange and didn't really fit well around our plans. You can't book a return journey so you have to wait and pray that there is room for you, otherwise you could wait another 3 hours! They sell tickets for parks and transport and attractions and reception, but are a little pricey compared to if you ordered on line before going! They had lots of entertainment happening all over the resort, so make sure you pick up an itinerary each week!OVERALL: we had a super time staying at the Sheraton Vistana Villages, and we will definitely be coming back! It was like a home from home, and we really truly enjoyed our stay. thank you to all the hard working staff that made our stay fantastic!!!
We are owners here at the Vistana Villages and would like to share our feedback. The good:In general, this is a great family resort. The accommodations are very nice, the pools are many, large, and kept very clean. It's been great hanging out for the day here taking a break from the parks. The staff, all around, is very courteous, attentive, and knowledgeable. The location is great - right in between WDW, Sea World, and Universal. Now the necessary improvements::We stayed in the Key West building 14. The rooms need some love. We wereActually in 2 units - a standard 1BR and requested a move to a premium 1BR when one became available. The bathroom and sink fixtures are at the end of their useful life and it would be a welcome improvement to have them replaced. The dishwashers (especially the mini one in the standard unit) and tired and do not clean dishes well. I had to post-wash them by hand. He kitchen accoutrements are sub par. The small appliances work, but are low-end. The utensils were few in number ( e.g only 2 butter knives in the standard units). The couches/loveseats have seen better days. They are old, worn, and could at least be cleaned until they are replaced. There is NOT enough shade around either the Bella or Keywest pools. The cabanas are great, but few in numbers. There are not enough. table umbrellas - a lot of umbrella-less tables that have the mounting hole for an umbrella- but missing it. Please, please, please!!!!! Buy some more umbrellas. Build some more cabanas, do something. More Shade would be appreciated.I went to the lobby to make these suggestions, the owner concierge suggested posting on trip advisor as he GM takes that feedback seriously. I'd love to review this with the GM. We were in 14-501 and 14-502 15-27 June. You can contact me anytime. We really like this place, but could easily love it.
We needed a place big enough for five adults and a toddler and this fit the bill perfectly. We had a two bedroom unit with a pullout sofa and a full kitchen on the fifth floor over looking the pool. The unit was fairly new and well appointed with three large television sets. The pool has a huge pirate ship with slides which the toddler loved. The only downside was this is a timeshare so expect to be offered the normal deals to buy.
We had a great time at the resort. The staff was phenomenal. Margarita at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The resort itself. I loved. We took my grand daughter who is one years old and she had a great time at all of the pools. We will definitely be back. Thank you for a great vacation!!!!!
We recently completed our 15th stay at Vistana Villages, and I can confidently say it is one of the best resorts in Orlando! It has spacious, clean, and well-decorated rooms along with beautifully maintained grounds and amenities. We started with a fantastic check-in in the new owner's lounge with Kim, who was very kind and helped to start our vacation off on a high note. We had a beautiful villa in the Key West section, our favorite area of the resort as it is very quiet and tropically themed. The villa offered lots of space with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen, dining and living area, and a large balcony with a great view of the lake and pool. In terms of amenities, There are 4 pools on property; all were very clean and offered lots of comfortable, cushioned lounge chairs. There are also several grills, hammocks, playgrounds, basketball/tennis/shuffleboard/volleyball courts, a nice general store/marketplace, a business lounge (the Link), a full-service restaurant, a pool bar, several fitness centers, and a variety of daily activities that will keep the whole family entertained! We had breakfast and lunch at Flagler's, the onsite restaurant, and we enjoyed our reasonably priced meals both times. Overall, the service was outstanding during our stay. All of our encounters with staff members felt genuine, and each team member went above and beyond, acting promptly to fix any (very minor) problems. We had a wonderful time at this great property, and we can't wait to return very soon!
