We stayed in sonesta suites a couple of times but would just like to point out Vanessa at reception was so helpful and friendly she is great at her job. She couldn't have done enough for us. Hotel was nice, clean and great location. Only two negatives; 1) bar was very dead and very expensive we couldn't believe how much the drink was and that has to be the reason for the bar been empty 2) hotels taxi man fernado, he was very expensive 10$ dearer than other company's like mears so I wouldn't recommend traveling with him. Mears charged us $10.60c to universal studios from the hotel and fernado was charging $18 dollars.. overall tho apart from them two issues we were all happy and enjoyed our stay čśü
I booked this hotel with Virgin holidays over a year ago as i liked a lot of the revues, but i do not think people were honest enough or they were just too kind.Check in was good but they did not change our pillows ready for us checking in as i had e mailed them 3 months before to say no feather pillows and i got an answer back to confirm but they did not have it on there system that is point 1. Point to is the lad came and changed our pillows good or so you would think, no the pillow slips were filthy and even some like me that wears glasses could see the dirt with them off, so they had to be changed. point 3 getting ready for bed the wife pulled back the duvet only to find that it also was very dirty, so that was put into the other room for the morning complaint. point 4 i went into the shower after my wife and came back out to check with her if she had cut herself she said no and asked why i said there is blood on the shower curtain so that had to be replaced. all that in less than 12 hours of checking in so as you could imagine i was not a happy man.Now we were there during Hurricane Irma and we did comply to the Governors order that there was to be a curfew and everyone had to be in there home or building by 7pm.The night before this i had asked a few people around the bar if the would like to weather the storm out in the bar and have a Hurricane party, and several agreed as the bar was going to be closed we said we would bring our own drink and snacks, i even said the the lad that was on duty what was happening and he said what a good idea , i asked if he would supply the plastic glasses and he agreed, no the night of the hurricane several of us met at the bar only to be told by the same lad on duty that it couldn't happen as the management team has a meeting and the said all residents must be in there room by 7 pm ,i polity said no that is not going to happen and that is that even when the duty operations manager said the same he was told where to go.Now i am all for safety but not stupidity,as they had all there staff in the breakfast room with drinks music and food for several hour after 7 pm then had the cheek to come to us after they were finished and say to us we must go to our rooms and again our answer was no do not treat us like children go away, and they did.The point i am making here is send us to our rooms then they do not need to think about us as out of sight out of mind. They said it was for our safety as they did not want us to get hurt in the open corridors but we could go to each others rooms and party, now think on that, at some point we would need to go to our own rooms and face the open corridors, so there was no logic in what they said.so disappointed with the duty managers and hotel.
Traveled here on Friday 8th September and check in was simple and easy and Yvonne and Logan on reception are amazing!! We had daily updates on the hurricane Irma and was provided torches in case the power went - Hotel could not help more than what they did! so prepared! The hurricane hit Sunday night/Monday morning and clean up started just hours of the winds dropping. The 2 bedroom apartment we stayed in was a perfect size, cleaned daily, had everything we needed. The manager (didnt catch her name) was amazing, helped sweep the lobby, gave daily talks/updates and one of the nicest managers we have met on a holiday. We will be returning as the location is perfect, hotel is perfect and the staff just made everything easy and worth while. Breakfast was also great so thanks for the chefs !! Thank you all for an amazing holiday, Amazing help and support during hurricane Irma and will see you soon.. P.S - Please give me a job on reception as being part of this team would be an incredible opportunity!! Thanks again - Room 519 8 September 2017 - 15th September 2017
We have just returned from an excellent stay at Sonesta ES Suites on International Drive, Unfortunately we were caught up in Hurricane Irma but the hotel provided very good support and information and ensured our safety as the storm passed over Orlando. The staff were very helpful and exceptional in arranging additional accommodation as our flight was cancelled twice and we had to stay an additional three days until the airport opened. The location of the hotel is great as the Orlando Eye and I-Drive 360 is just across the road with a variety of shops, restaurants and bars. The hotel operated free return bus transportation to Universal and Disney Theme Parks. The I-Ride Trolley operated every 15 minutes on International Drive and stop 14 was located right outside the hotel. Orlando's Premium Outlet Malls were great for shopping, especially on Labor Day, the offers and prices were exceptional. Mall at Millenia was also great for shopping but a bit more expensive. I would definitely return to Sonesta ES Suites and would recommend the hotel.
Great place to stay, staff really good. Stayed here when hurricane Irma hit Orlando. Information updated on a regular basis to ensure all guests were safe and aware of all local information, stayed in a two bedroom apartment which was more than adequate for 4adults and cleaned daily. Breakfast was good, always plenty of choice. Idealy placed to access the all the theme parks, also plenty of places to eat nearby to suit all budgets. Would highly recommend Es Sonesta and look forward to returning.
