Tuscan Hills Resort
- What's Included
We come to Orlando several times a year and stay at Windsor as often as possible. The location is great to the highways and parks. A new Walmart is coming nearby (might increase traffic a bit, but convenient). Lots of restaurants and shopping nearby if you have a car (which is a must for this location). The rentals are owned by different people, so conditions will vary. This is our 4 stay since 2014 and we used the same company 3 of the 4 times. So we kind of know what we are getting with the unit The other company had a reputable unit as well and the furnishings were also great. I will say it is hit or miss with what comes in the unit. These are rentals and not a hotel. There was one that had such crappy towels and wash clothes, we went out and bought our own. One unit had dishwasher detergent, extra toilet paper, paper towels, and washing detergent and others didn't. Just be on notice. The facilities are decent. Pool with slide, game room, pool table, table tennis, store with prepared concession type food, basketball, tennis courts. We spend most of time away at the parks and other attractions, so it fits us okay. We do a day at the pool, table tennis, and two games of pool (deposit required and time limit for pool and table tennis, sport stuff). The theater was down this last time, but we have never used it before. We have never had an issue with noise but we don't stay near the pool. We've only stayed in 2/3br condos. Parking can be hard for some units but you will find a space somewhere. The gatehouse can have a long line and they are pretty strict about getting everything set up with your access pass. We like Windsor Hills and looking forward to our next stay in 3 months.
We have stayed at Windsor Hills many times in the past as it has always been such a perfect location for a trip to Orlando. We booked our villa through thetopvillas.com and we stayed in number 450, which is number 2345 on Archfeld Blvd in Windsor Hills and it was brilliant. It was a lovely villa, i think it was one of the more recently built ones from the photos of other villas we looked at before booking ours and it was perfect. It's a six bedroom villa and we were a family of four, which worked out well for us as we did a lot of shopping in Orlando and ended up using one of the rooms for suitcases and shopping bags! It was an extremely well equipped villa, particularly in the kitchen, which contained everything we could possibly need and more - although we ate out most meals so we didn't use it much anyway. I've read other reviews of it being very loud and drunk people however we found it the complete opposite. On the first night the family opposite us were quite noisy but we only heard them whilst we were bringing in the luggage from the car but apart from that the other 10 nights of our stay it was really peaceful and calm. The villa we stayed in was very nice with nice furniture and very clean and modern with big flat screen tv's in every room and a nice large pool. The only couple of things that could have been better is that nearer to the end of our stay, a few ants started to appear in the master bathroom - I'm not sure where they suddenly came from but it wasn't ideal! The other issue is that there was only a tiny amount of toilet paper in the house, which was fine as we went out and purchased it along with drinks and things to fill the fridge but i would have expected for them to give us a little more in the first place. Overall, i highly recommend this complex if you're staying in Orlando with kids or just a group of adults wanting to do all of the parks. It is a perfect location, only minutes away from disney, our villa was very nice and the area was kept in very nice condition and it is very secure with 24hr security.
We have stayed at Windsor Hills many times over the past 15 years. It used to be such a great resort, in a great location with easy access to the parks. To say we are shocked at the decline of this resort is an understatement and if you are travelling with young children AVOID unless you are the type of family that are happy to throw your kids in bed and leave them to it while your outside getting drunk and partying the night away. Because this is now Windsor Hills party central where all you can hear is loud music and adults screaming and shouting to each until 3 or 4 in the morning. I'm sure some villas are in competition with each other to see who can be the loudest. It as been so bad some nights we have ended up with our grandchildren in bed with us because they have been woken up scared by the noise. The villa we stayed in was in need of upgrading but was well equipped with the basics we needed. Saying this if I was an owner here I don't think I would upgrade with the change in clientele. Has I would say Windsor Hills is now suited for more older families with teenagers or the group's of young adults we have seen. We did get a few good night's when we went to the coast for a few days which we loved. So if your young and love pool parties throughout the night. This is the place to be.
Our 4th trip to Windsor hills, once in a condo, 3 times in a 3 bed condo with small plunge pool. Perfectly located for Disney, bit further to universal. Lovely complex with communal pool, jacuzzi, club house, shop, playground. Highly recommended.
First let me say that we have stayed at Windsor Hills numerous times. We have stayed in two other condos and they were excellent. Well equipped and very clean and furnished nicely. Had almost anything you would need including beach towels, plenty of bath towels and wash cloths, plenty of sheets, newer TV's in every room, etc. We absolutely loved it. This time we stayed in #101 on the first floor. The furnishings are older and missed matched. The coffee pot base hasn't been cleaned in a long while. The pots that are there are scratched to the point of absolutely needing replacement. Everything stuck to them and they were horrible. No washcloths. There were only 4 in our party, but if we had had 8 like we normally have in our group we felt there wouldn't have been enough towels unless you kept washing them each time to have enough. We bought a couple of new towels to use. Since we were on the first floor, you heard people walking around the condo late at night and whoever was above our condo was running constantly at night even at 11 PM and one night until 2 AM. The other condos we had stayed at were on the upper floors. The pool which we normally loved had many large groups of people who would congregate in the entrance way to the pool with liquor, coolers and were very loud. Then the kids were in the pool unsupervised and some of them were jumping the fence and using the slide after hours. We saw someone smoking in the pool area. An adult with a group of children in the pool with a drink (liquor) and cursing. The unsupervised children were being obnoxious and splashing and making it hard for those with smaller children to swim. The TV's in the two bedrooms (the third bedroom did not have one like the other condos did) were fuzzy and need to be replaced. If you don't put the dryer on the timed dry it keeps running and doesn't shut off. There is no mixer and any baking pans at all. So if you want to make pizza, brownies or anything else that you'd like to bake bring your own pans. We were checking the pillows and there was hair on one and stains on one of them so we ended up going and buying new sheets and new pillows to use during our stay. In our opinion everything is older, some things stained and needs updating or replacement. At 4 AM the TV in one of the bedrooms popped on. We've decided that when we come down again we will be looking for another complex which is a shame because we've always liked Windsor Hills and have recommended it to our friends. Suggestions: Put in ceiling fans, make a listing of TV channels and laminate it for ease to find channels, replace two TV's in bedrooms and purchase one for the third bedroom, buy several more bath towels and add normal sized beach towels, replace pans and add bakeware, buy a mixer. There was a bench seat and 4 chairs which would seating at the table for 6 people not for 8. There was a large seat on the patio and it would have been nice to have a small table with chairs so you could sit out to have coffee in the morning or eat a snack. Replace pillows. We could not get the screened door locked on lanai so we didn't want to leave our beach items out there to dry. I also bought my own dish towels, hot pads and dish rags and left them for future guests. That's all that I can remember. P.S. I just called the management company to try and voice my concerns and he really didn't care. So that is a shame that they wouldn't want to take comments to make vacationer's stays more enjoyable.
