Florida walt disney swan & Dolphin resort

Amazing hotel with lots of beautiful surroundings and entertainment close to hotel. The hotel it self is a huge size but you don't feel the people. The staff is simply amazing kind and helpful when it comes to cleaning and restaurants.the concierge staff is kind of in its own world .I took a nasty fall in the shower because there is no protection in the tub where you have to shower if you don't feel like soaking in the tub. When brought to their attention that it was amazing that they had a family hotel here and it could be one of my kids it was like what ever. I am 5 months after the trip and still in treatment from my fall.the valet parking is very helpful with shopping bags and directions or just advise in general.recommend room in upper floor where you can see from the dolphin hotel Epcot and Hollywood studios firework each night from the room.dinner in Epcot restaurants are all in all take the bad with the good highly recommend this Area or hotel.Have a safe trip and enjoy !

Very nice hotel, but didn't tell us the one pool was closed for renovation AND wouldn't allow a late check out

Very nice property they've got here. I just got back from my trip yesterday. They first tried to put us in a room across the hall from both the ice machine and the elevator (that dings), but they gave us a different room after we asked. Overall the facilities and service were very good. The staff was very kind and hospitable. The food was also very delicious. I wish they would have told us that their one pool was closed for renovation. We didn't spend much time there anyways, so it wasn't a huge deal. We loved how close it was to Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and the Disney Boardwalk. We enjoyed all three attractions and had a great time. This hotel would be good to stay in if you would prefer to walk to the attractions listed above. We weren't really into the Magic and Animal Kingdoms, so this hotel was perfectly located. They also offer free transportation to the other parks not within walking distance, so it all works out. PLEASE NOTE: if you are going to leave your luggage with the bellmen, TAKE ALL VALUABLES AND/OR ELECTRONICS WITH YOU. I left my Nintendo DSi in one of my suitcases that I left with the bellmen, and I noticed that the suitcase looked like it had been rummaged through, but I shook it off. I then realized while unpacking today that it was missing. I filed a missing report with them and am hoping to get it back soon. Please comment if you have seen the Nintendo DSi icy blue zippered case! I will include it in the pictures below. Hope this was helpful to someone.

Elegant Red Roof Inn

It is surprising this is a Starwood property, totally run down in all aspects. My wife checked us in and they put us in a non-renovated room with the worst view possible, even though I am SPG platinum. Valey "lost" my car, which was super fun. They charge a $25.00 resort fee for stuff that should be included, total garbage and outdated fee.

Not a 4 star

I rented 3 rooms over Christmas for 6 nights and was pleased with the location, but the rooms need attention and the hallways outside the rooms need even more. I stayed at the Swan because I was told I would receive award points before I made reservations and three times at the front dest even though I booked at Costco. Points have not been added and I'm told I will not receive any because I booked through Costco. Note: I've dropped Starwood from my list of hotels to stay at in the future.

Expectations not high, still disappointed, esp. for SPG platinum

We just spent 8 nights at the Dolphin. It was not a positive experience. We used about 70,000 points for this stay, and I am deeply regretting using them for it. We should have just remained at the Beach Club, where we spent our first 3 nights of our trip.First, some have mentioned it but it really needs to be stressed how exceptionally dated this hotel is. Like, something right out of the original Full House. I know there are plans to renovate, and they are desperately needed. The decor is shamefully old. The elevators still have elevator music. The pouf thing over the lobby looks like grandma bedsheets made into a giant kids' pillow fort. It's tired and miserable. I know that being on Disney property makes it a great location, but what it gains in convenience, it loses in atmosphere. Bus service was spotty and the worst I have experience on Disney property.Families of five: Don't do it! I know it says the rooms fit 5, but the beds are tiny doubles (not queens) and there is no pull out or sofa bed like at the Disney resorts, so 5 people are expected to fit onto 2 full sized beds. You can pay for a fold away bed for something like $25 (!) per night. Even with little kids, there is not room for everyone to sleep. We had to use an air mattress and we felt terribly cramped.SPG Platinum service: Sorely lacking. Was charged a service fee for a points stay for things that are complimentary for Platinums at other resorts. Was able to get charges removed, but not without multiple visits to front desk. Had requested late check out (needed 4pm) on booking (months in advance) and was told night before departure that we could only stay until noon. Our "upgrade" was to a standard room with a teeny, tiny balcony that barely fit two old metal patio chairs. The room was literally all the way down the furthest hallway on resort property. Room was one of the renovated ones (more on that later.) We did get a welcome gift for myself and our daughter who were running the half marathon, and that was nice. It had some chips and candy in it. Unfortunately, there were four brown bananas in the bag, but it was a decent gesture.Platinum welcome gift was points or resort breakfast vouchers. It's a terrible bait and switch. The breakfast is a sit down and a buffet, but you are only allowed the cold items from a full buffet. The first day, my son selected a croissant from a different section of the buffet and we were subsequently charged the full amount for him. I thought this was terrible treatment of a platinum member and my husband was furious. We used this breakfast twice and then gave up on it. Climate control is very poor here. Hallways were ICE cold on rainy, cold days. Made the walk to the room quite miserable. The 1st floor near Picabu was particularly freezing. Renovated rooms. Sigh. Yes, they look better than the old rooms. We really liked the arrangement of the coffee station on one side and sink on the other. Made getting ready in the morning with 5 people much smoother.Noise. So much noise. If I was near the closet, I could hear people urinating in the room next door. I could hear lots of voices at night. Voices in rooms can be heard loud and clear and conversations clearly understood. Lobby...SO. LOUD. I know it is a conventioners hotel and I expected conventioners. But the acoustics are just awful. The lobby is not a peaceful place to sit and have a drink after the kids go to bed. There really is no peaceful escape there (unlike all of the Disney deluxe resorts.) Outside is no better, as loud music plays until late while neon lights flash on the palm trees on the promenade between the Swan and Dolphin., yes, it is on Disney property, and yes you can walk to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. And yes, you walk nonstop on Disney trips. But when you are walking 5-6 miles a day, sometimes that last bit of walking is just overboard. There are boats, but they are infrequent and slow. Buses...on our last day, people were waiting over an hour for a Magic Kingdom bus. We waited 40 minutes for one. Housekeeping was outstanding. Only 2 coffee pods are given daily in a room for 5 people, which is annoying, but we called down for more and it was sent up immediately. All room requests (extra blankets, coffee, etc) were met very promptly. Housekeeping, Picabu, and Fresh Market staff were courteous and friendly. Hats off to all of them. I'm both glad that this was free (but beware...we were told that as of Dec. 2016, nightly resort fees are standard for SPG platinum guests staying on points) and super bummed that we wasted so many of my husband's well-earned points on it. We are planning trips to NYC and French Polynesia later this year and I deeply regret not using the points for those trips. I certainly would not pay cash for this resort. It was still a great trip because we were at Disney, but we will not be staying at the Dolphin again. We have used fewer points on Four Points by Sheraton locations that felt more modern and spacious than the Dolphin. This is my first tripadvisor review. I am generally so easy to please and I am happy just for the good fortune and privilege of being able to travel, but I really felt the need to share my experience because this was a huge disappointment.
