Not worth the moneu

Very disappointing. Rooms small, dark, smell moldy. Food is pricey and average at best. Layout of the hotel is inconvenient. Pools are average. Amenities are just ok, definitely are not getting what we are paying for.

Awkward room setup

The staff here at The Dolphin is very good. They're polite and quite helpful. Engineering was able to address the air conditioning problem promptly. Literally, in less than 10 minutes Ben was up here. The room arrangement was unfortunate, though. The sink, toilet and shower were all in the same room, so only one person at a time was able to get ready. Also, there was only one nightstand in our King room, and I found that to be inconvenient. My impression was that Starwood Hotels were more upscale than the Marriotts, but even Courtyards have sinks outside the toilet area and they have nightstands on each side of the bed, as do Residence Inns.We were also treated to the sound of drilling as they are renovating rooms throughout the resort.

Nothing like being "on property"

My wife and I wanted to experience Disney without our three kids. It would be the first time in 20+ years we would do so and decided to spend our anniversary staying on-property at Disney. If you belong to any hotel rewards program, the Dolphin and Swan are the only on-property locations where you can redeem points. The properties are run by Sheraton so you can trade either SPG or Marriott points without being held hostage to the premium Disney prices.A caveat to the four stars is that this was during Spring Break, which brings an extra burden on hotel staff with full occupancy and crazy people. The line to check in a 1PM was quite long for those without SPG/Marriott Elite status. Our receptionist was quite nice (Jake), but he forgot to let us know that the power would be out at about 4AM - something they do once a year or so. That left my wife without light when she had a late morning bathroom visit and was worried something wrong had happened, so called the front desk. It was hard for her to go to sleep after that.As a Platinum member, we are guaranteed an upgraded room, if available. And like other posts, this "upgrade" may only be a room with a balcony. They also charge a $25/person/night resort fee, which is their justification to use the gym and pool. It also covers water bottles. Since they didn't get our room available until 4PM, we were given a credit of $50.They best thing of the Dolphin is the access to both Disney Hollywood Studios and Epcot. Epcot is basically a 15-minute walk, which allows you to head back to the hotel for lunch, a rest, or other "break" you might need. Hollywood Studios is a water taxi away as well - or about 15-minutes if you can get right on the boat. Because of this, we took an Uber from the airport and took local Disney transportation to Disney Springs and the parks we visited. A $20/day self-parking fee becomes significant if you are staying more than a few days and the Disney transportation actually gives you more direct access than a rental car would. In the end, my wife and I agreed that any future visit to the Kingdom will be on-property. There is so much benefit and less headache than staying off-property and dealing with travel time and being "stuck" at a park without making a significant effort to get out and back.

Great overnight stay at the Dolphin!

We made a quick 1 night stop at the Dolphin hotel for my daugther's birthday and as part of our Spring Break in Orlando. When we checked in, we told them it was her 6th Birthday and they gave her a Happy Birthday button (which she wore proudly the rest of the trip) and gave us a free upgrade to a resort view room. We loved spending time at the pools, on the beach and the playground. The kids loved the hammocks, playing ping pong and corn hole. We didn't need to visit the theme parks this day!

Dont Bother....Save your Money ! NOT DISNEY PROPERTY

I booked this on the HOTELS TONIGHT APP - Straight up damn Bait n Switch. This room was advertised as $109 a nite....I booked asap - this room QUICKLY turned into $183 a nite. I was charged by app an additional $46 for taxes & fees, then UPON arrival @ the hotel I was charged ANOTHER $28 Resort Fee AND $20 Self Parking Fee. Thank God it was only a 1 nite booking. Buyer Beware. This resort is FAR from being anything close to a Disney Resort and it shows. Worn and dated hotel. My 1st visit to this property, I walk into the room place items on dresser look down there is a penny and a bobby pin on the carpet....that set the tone ! Wont be staying here again....
