Happy visitor

My husband and I stayed the night before visiting universal studios. The resort is very close to the park, close to Wal-Mart and plenty of places to eat nearby. Our room was nice, the pools also. The private island is very pretty. Overall, we were very happy with our stay.

Where to begin?? Avoid this place!! It's a timeshare and all they want to do is pressure you into buying into it. If you say no they turn on you and become viscous and will try to keep you from leaving. Then when they finally do let you go they won't drive you back to your vehicle and leave you to walk the two miles back! Not only that but this place is just dirty nasty!! It looks like government housing! There are NOT enough parking spaces. You will have to park and walk up to two miles to get back to your room. If your disabled they have very few disabled spaces. If someone without a disabled tag parks in a disabled slot they will do nothing about it. The laundry room was one washer and one dryer for a building with over 100 people. The washer and dryer were so dirty I was too scared to use them. The elevator is so slow. One per building with 12 floors and over 100 people per building. You WILL wait for over 20 minutes to catch the elevator. At night the place is littered with loud, ghetto, partying people all over the resort. They walk around drinking and smoking weed and fighting. So once it's dark plan on heading inside. The pools and jacuzzi were too dirty to use for fear of catching something!! My room was old and outdated and smelled musty. The tub desperately needed replaced. The only thing even being close to nice about this place was the lobby. You only see that at check in.So if you don't have much money and don't mind staying somewhere dirty with a bunch of nasty ghetto people this is the place for you. If not I suggest you go any where else. Trust me it's worth paying more to NOT stay here!!

Times have changed

I've been to Westgate several times and its just not the same. I get that it's growing but the resort is too crowded. I prefer going to Westgate Palace although the folks who try to sell you the timeshare are VERY PUSHY at the Palace. If I'm already an owner, LEAVE ME ALONE! And if you try and book at another location, good luck with that. Exchanges are not as easy as they tell you they are. If you're looking to purchase a timeshare, you've been forewarned buy at your own risk. It's definitely money thrown away. But the rooms are comfortable.

Good visit with a few concerns

We visited resort in June 2017. We arrived after midnight. Check in was fairly easy and we were given directions to our rooms in 1400 building. No parking was available initially near building; however, after we unpacked someone was checking out and we were able to find parking. The 2 bedroom/2 bath unit was nice with full kitchen and washer/dryer. However, the shower in the master bedroom was dirty and we called housekeeping later in the morning and they immediately came and cleaned the shower. After getting in bed about 2:00 a.m., the phone rang at about 8:00 a.m. stating that we were scheduled for a timeshare presentation at 8:30 a.m. which we declined and they rescheduled for the next day at 8:30 a.m. Although all the sales agents we dealt with were very nice, the presentation lasted over 2 1/2 hours. The entry ways and stairwells in our building were not as clean as they could have been and on Sunday when we were checking out the elevator was not working. No problems with noise as we were on an upper floor. Attempted to play mini-golf one evening after 8:00 but it was closed. Our unit had a great view and beds were comfortable. Location convenient to International Boulevard as well as Universal and Disney. Overall a good visit.
