Saint Petersburg, United States Vacations

Our Opinion of Saint Petersburg

St. Petersburg's is a popular tourist, and retirement destination. And it's no wonder why it has been nicknamed "The Sunshine City" with an average of some 360 days of sunshine each year. There are many wonderful museums and attractions here, and the waterfront downtown is one of Florida's most pleasant.

The nearby beaches skirting the narrow barrier islands run for some 40 km between St Pete Beach and Clearwater Beach. With water on three sides of the city, St Petersburg is a superb location for fishing, sailing, and wandering beaches.

The gulf beaches are well regarded for their beaches. Fort Desoto was once rated the number one beach in America by the annual Dr. Beach rankings. All beaches are a short 10-15 minutes west of the city of St. Petersburg.
