We loved the upgrades in the rooms! The bathrooms and kitchenette were very nicely done. As always, thes pool area and beach were beautiful. Even played shuffleboard on this getaway! Can't wait to return. I hope Irma did not damage my favorite Florida vacation spot.Cathy M. From Wisconsin
I recently stayed at this location for 3 nights. Upon arriving and trying to get checked in the lady at the front desk was very rude.I understand it was a busy weekend with two or three reunions at this location. Once I got checked in I arrived at my room to a very bad odor I knew that I could not stay their maintenance came he said that he was aware of the problem with this room and he went to have me moved to another room. This room was better. Like I said before I was a with a large group well my aunt sent me a picture of her mattress on day two very stained this mattress should have been in the dumpster later that day we ate at the restaurant on the property and found a bug in my cousins food. Still trying to remain positive for the remainder of my visit. Last night there was banquet at the hotel. The food was cold
This may be the best value in St. Petersburg. No resort fees, free parking. Great beach access. The pool is beautiful and the room was very nice. The room seemed very clean, but my allergies went nuts during the night so I assume there is some mold/mildew going on somewhere, but it certainly wasn't visible. The housekeeping staff had obviously worked very hard at maintaining the place. Flippers bar also was a great place for a night cap. My only concern was bugs. I had brought some food back into the room from Flippers (Which was fantastic. Maybe the best clams I found on the whole trip.) and when I went to get it I found the container held 6-8 roach looking things which took off under the microwave. The front desk staff were very helpful and offered to move me, but it was after midnight and I was leaving early the next morning. Over all, I will definitely look at the Dolphin next year.
We have just left the Dolphin after another great stay. We visit here every year to relax after visiting the parks. Once again our room request was granted, something which doesn't always happen at other hotels so we always appreciate this. We did have a bit of a problem with our first room due to a smell coming from the sink so we asked a maintenance worker to have a look which he did immediately, he agreed that it wasn't right and arranged for us to change rooms immediately. The music at the pool bar is really nice. Looking forward to our return visit next year! The Reilly family 😊
Never ever again will I stay here. The reception staff is not very welcoming....almost unfriendly and certainly uncaring. Upon entering our room, the smell nearly knocked me over. Mold and mildew seemed to be coming from the AC. The room seemed to be clean, but my eyes burned and my nose was running all night.
