The location is absolutely the best, the beach is beautiful, appreciated the low resort fee to cover the beach loungers, the staff was professional, polite and fun from the time we checked in (and they stored our luggage and allowed us to change to use the beach loungers before check in) until the time we had to depart. The on-site restaurants were all great. Bongos was fun and the best location on that stretch of the beach. Others set back too far. Enjoyed level 11 to see the sunset and met some fun locals, and had a romantic dinner at Spinners Rooftop Restaurant - the filet was amazing. The room was nice, clean, and had plenty of fresh towels every day. The restroom could use some TLC, but clean. Housekeeping throughout was constantly making sure everything was clean. Some people complain about sand in the hallways, well you literally walk in off the beach and we have no complaints!! All in all it was a great vacation and we look forward to going back to this same resort.
Rooms were very clean and spacious. Room service was my favorite part. Staff very friendly. Got a suite so I could work while vacationing-- but no wifi!! I suppose it's good they made me unplug! Just spend the extra money and get the suite...i
This is the first review I have felt compelled to write. When we arrived at the hotel, the lady who attended to us was not the friendliest, maybe she was having a bad day. She told us we had a FREE cabana on the beach, parking and wifi -great we thought! She then asked my husband to sign a form which we assumed was part of the checking in process. We were handed our card key and went to our room. We noticed the hotel was rather dated. The furniture and bathroom desperately needed an update. On a positive note, the bed and bedding were clean and comfortable. We were only booked in for 2 nights and had a lovely evening and meal watching the sunset from the beach bar. When we came to check out the lady on reception said she would take the resort fees from my credit card. $28 per day. I asked what this was for she told me it was for parking wifi and cabana on the beach. She told me ALL resorts have fees for these services. She then pushed the 'check in' paper in front of my nose and kept pointing at my husbands signature saying look you have signed for it. I don't mind paying for any services but please don't make out it is free and then charge for it. Please be aware to add on another £25 to your hotel fees if you do decide to book this hotel as it doesn't matter if you use the services or not, you still have to pay! I believe I'm not the first to complain about this due to her reaction when we questioned it. I basically felt conned!
There was hardly anything missing at this hotel. There is Bongos at the Beach Restaurant and Bar, with music all the time. Then there is Spinners, a bar that rotates that is romantic that overlooks the ocean. Now if you really want elegance, look to Level 11. An open bar with upscale everything. They even have a breakfast and brunch restaurant that is out of this world that is very reasonable for a resort. Now I do have a question. There was a beautiful manager, I assume, her name was Kristyn, (and I know I spelled it wrong, it was unique) And it seemed as though each time we went to dinner or drinks she was taking on a different role. One night she was at Spinners, another night Level 11, another night she came out in a chefs coat to assist a manager. We saw her every night of our stay of 7 days. And my boyfriend and I had a bet as to if she lived on property or not, because many days we saw her working 10-12 hour shifts. But we have to say, she never looked tired and always had a big smile on her face and treated everyone like a friend. Even when she had to correct a staff member she was soft and sweet, and demonstrated what she wanted. No one would have noticed, but I did because I also run a resort. I would have loved to offer her a job and take her back to Canada with me. Great place to stay in the US by far. Need turn down service and room service to amp the luxury vibe. Thank you for our stay, we look forward to next year. Maybe a wedding perhaps???
I just came back from staying in this hotel with my daughter and granddaughter, while we had a great time hotel is in desperate need for renovation. We had partial beach view room that were facing Bongo restaurant, music there is so loud that you can hear in your room on saturdays until 3 am. Air conditioner works very loud and do not cool too wel so it basically on all night which also do not contribute to restful sleep. Bathroom has a very little space to store your stuff and faucet just dripped water instead of running it. While our room was "cleaned" daily, it was not clean. Not much space to store your clothes as drawers, we had to leave out of suitcases. Staff was very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed dinners at Spinners.
