Holiday Inn and Suites Harbourside
- What's Included
We had significant damage and no power due to Hurricane Irma. We had our dog with us and even though they don't accept pets they had no problem taking us in. We had a two story suite which was spacious with a full kitchen and dining room. Great restaurant and plenty to do. The staff is very accommodating. I will stay there again.
Booked 10 nights here as a base whilst exploring Florida with older kids. Arrived, checked in - no problems. Got to the room. A standard room. Bit of a problem. Reminiscent of a prison cell. Pretty small, dark, repressing, We were tired after travelling from the UK so went out for dinner and had a lovely evening.Woke up - much earlier than my husband and sons, nowhere for me to sit and read or just watch the world go by. Felt quite lost.Went to get free coffee (between 0700 and 1100) and bumped into my sister in law who had booked another room next door.We both felt the same. Worried how we were going to cope with 10 nights in the accommodation we had.We went to Reception to see if they could move us.We spoke to Charles and a lovely lady originally from England. Sorry I can;t remember her name. Charles looked straight away to see what he could do.He was absolutely brilliant and should get a massive pay rise! He put us at ease and made our request his number one priority. He sorted us our with much more suitable accommodation. Made a massive difference to our trip. We had the most amazing and enjoyable holiday. Ate in Jimmys, spent the day in the waterpark, explored the local area and Busch gardens etc. Would definitely go back.Proceeded to spend two nights both at the Hard Rock Orlando and Tradewinds St Petes. Both of these upscale hotels could learn a lot from this hotel and it's staff. Both were over priced, impersonal and nowhere near as nice. Thanks for the most amazing stay and to the reception staff - especially Charles for going the extra mile.I would gladly go back. It's a fantastic base and a real home from home.
We rented a one bedroom suite with a city view. We arrived on Saturday August 5th and left the 12th. We got to the hotel around 4 and had to wait for our room to be cleaned. Other guests in the lobby were rowdy and rude about the wait but it was only about thirty five minutes. They did give us two free breakfast vouchers that we didn't use. The supervisor told us to come back the next day to switch to a harbor view room but we were already unpacked so it would have been a hassle. Whoever was in the unit above us (151) was loud, inconsiderate and made loud noises at all hours. I first thought it was due to roof repairs but it happened throughout the night. The pool was nice although there were never enough towels but we just used our beach towels. The toilet had to be unclogged twice but maintenance came soon after we called to report it. The hotel is within walking distance of the beach which is a huge plus. All the staff were super friendly. We will return again next year.
Great thing was Location, Location, Location, closed to everything and far at the same time. Beaches a couple block away, great restaurants all around, a little be price for the condition, just need to be updated, great restaurant inside, great staff, will go back
I want to give this hotel a better review, but I just cannot. It has great potential! Our room was a standard room. The mattresses were old and springy. There was not alot of space at all. There was a mini fridge. It was so dark! Only one window and because the hotel has a covered atrium over the middle, even with the curtain all the way open it was dark. Then because we had the lamps on, every time someone walked past our room they looked inside..kind of creepy. Room was small, motel-ish. Nothing special. Note to Holiday Inn- guest do not need a desk. They need a table and 2 chairs. If they want to "work" the table can serve as a desk. Our closet was HUGE! We wished for a smaller closet and a bigger space. As for the amenities, the attached water park is NOT included with your room. You get a discount rate of 16.95. Mini golf course is covered by the atrium so you can use this as a rainy activity but not special in any way, also not included and not cheap! 9 for an adult and 7 for a child. Come on! You can walk across the street to get to the beach, small beach access there with no showers or restrooms. There is an onsite restaurant with live music. It is very popular with people staying in Indian Rocks Beach. It gets filled up starting about 630-7. They are an outdoor casual dining place. They had good food and a lot of different drink options. This hotel has a lot of stairs. Only one elevator. It seemed there were stairs everywhere! There is covered parking for free. There is an attached marina. All of the rooms facing the marina/intracoastal are suites. We only stayed one night and were glad.
