First time visitors...arrived at night. I was not impressed with my room so I called down to the reception and Mike was able to help me out. He went above & beyond! True customer service. Our stay was awesome! We enjoyed the facilities. Nice staff. Thanks again, Mike!-Indiana Girls
Have stayed with the Sirata a couple of times over recent years and this is mainly due to finding a decent room rate and biggest pull of all, the location.Booked a suite this time, decent rate therefore were positioned in the block at the front of the hotel meaning no view to spk of other than the main road out front. Did have a balcony & kitchenette which was great but I think this room may be overdue a facelift as the decor was definitely appearing tired. Happily Wifi in this hotel is now finally free which was a big plus and everything else was in good working order as you'd expect. The big draw of this hotel is of course it's beach front locale, perfect. Also has a decent beach bar, Harry's, serving cocktails & food but don't expect a cheery welcome from the bar staff, yes they are very efficient and if the tips keep coming regardless, as they do, then why bother with service pleasantries, right? It's also more of a daytime haunt so if you're a night owl like me then head for excellent late nite beach bar joints like 'Bongo's' next door at the Plaza or the unrivalled 'Jimmy B's' which is a MUST DO and only 10 mins walk up the road at the Beachcomber.Didn't try the hotel restaurant 'Compass Grill', so can't comment but the beach bar food was of a great standard so assume the restaurant would be too.All in all a good stay but one sour taste was left... we lost the first two days of this stay due to Hurricane Matthew and being advised not to travel from management at our prior accommodation in Orlando. Coupled with an enforced curfew for 30hrs it was mpossible for us to leave anyway. On contacting the Sirata reception to update them & acquire assurances we'd still have a room to stay in on our eventual late arrival within a couple of days. After a terse 10 min convo, the response I received from the receptionist was pretty much one of pure spite, being put on hold multiple times before ultimately attempting to force us to travel against knowledgable advice in seriously adverse weather conditions whilst ignoring a law enforced curfew... or face her cancelling our room altogether. In a word, DISGRACE!Luckily my insistance on speaking to her manager saved our booking as Rossalyn could not have been more respectful of our predicament, resolving our problem instantly & putting my anxiety at immediate ease. Spiteful cold hearted front of house staff though... why, just why?!Happy St Pete holidays!
I got married in St. Petersburg the beginning of Oct. I booked the Sirata. I have never been to that hotel but it looked very nice. I stayed two nights. First issue, the room was not enjoyable. It smelled very moldy and the toilet was not in good working order. It was running off and on. It was very annoying keeping us awake all night. We called down for maintenance but it still didn't get fixed!!!Another issue is parking. It is difficult to get a spot and the spaces around the side of the hotel are very tight. I would look for a different hotel on St. Pete's beach.
We stayed at Sirata Beach Resort for a fall break vacation and loved the whole visit. The view from our room (4546) was awesome and we loved the kitchenette. During our stay we were able to enjoy our breakfast and lunches from the room in between our trips to the wonderful beach, and go out for dinner if we wanted to. The resort was well maintained and activities were available like arcade, ping-pong and corn-hole. The resort has several dining options or many nearby options to enjoy. A couple of full bars for the adults and music and DJ's at various times. Loved our stay here and will be looking forward to a return visit soon.
The location of this resort is excellent. It is a half-mile or so from the grocery store. Since we had a refrigerator and a microwave in our room, we walked to the store to get groceries to save on eating expenses. The restaurants on the resort are very good. The resort itself is right on a beautiful stretch of beach and also has 3 pools and 2 hot tubs. If the restaurants on the resort are not to your liking, there are several nice places to eat within walking distance of the resort. House keeping did an excellent job and the price was very moderate. A few problems we experienced during our stay: We arrived about 10:30 pm on a Saturday night. We had been traveling all day and were hungry. We were told by the front desk staff that Rum Runner's on the resort served a "limited menu" of food until 1 am on the weekends. We walked over to Rum Runners and were told by the staff they stopped serving food at 10 pm. There was also a sign in our room advertising that Rum Runner's served food until 1 am on the weekend. Apparently, things are not well communicated and we walked next door to get food. There is a kiosk on the beach that advertises several day cruises for various prices and offers "any 2 for $65". There was nothing on the sign that indicated that certain cruises or the 2 for $65 deal were seasonal. There was a sign in the resort office that advertised the same thing as the kiosk. We inquired about some of the cruises and were told that 3 of the four they had advertised were "no longer offered because we are off peak season" and that the advertisement of 2 for $65 was "wrong." Seems like false advertising to me. Even after we were informed of that the information advertised was wrong, the kiosk and front office continued to advertise the cruises that were not offered and the incorrect pricing. Those things were still being advertised the day we left which was several days after we were told the advertisement was wrong. Not sure why they did not update their info??? Overall, we had a pleasant stay and would definitely return here.
