Overview
Footsteps away from the Gulf of Mexico, there is so much to do on Florida's west coast. Soak in the rays on the beach, then go and watch the Rays (the 2008 American League champion Tampa Bay Rays, that is) play ball at nearby Tropicana Field. Everything you need is within walking distance: shopping, dining, cruises and much more. After a hard day's work doing to town, enjoy all the amenities the Sunset Vistas offers. An outdoor pool is the centrepiece of the tropical courtyard. Some locals believe there lies a treasure chest left behind by John LeVeque, a French explorer who then became a pirate. Just another exciting way to spend your trip in sunny St. Petersburg.

Location: Located on the beach at Treasure Island, 47km from Tampa Int'l Airport.

Nice place to stay on Treasure Island

The room was not clean when we got there, so they moved us to another room and was given food vouchers for cafe. The decor needs updating, but ok. A little cafe there, service was not friendly, food a bit expensive, so the vouchers were helpful. Food was good though. The cafe isn't open very late. Walk right onto beach and nice view of beach even on the side. Provides beach chairs that you can sit on at beach. Decent pool. Price is reasonable for a hard to find 2 bedroom, 2 bath with kitchen on beach. Free parking but you only get one space and the parking is covered, but tight.

Best location on the beach

We have stayed at Sunset Vistas for family vacations several times over the past 10 years and the great location and friendly staff keep us coming coming back! It's my kids favorite location on the gulf to stay and it feels like our home away from home.

Girls Getaway-GREAT!

We had a wonderful time. Enough cookware for a nice dinner and all breakfasts in the room. The view was great! Clean and bright! The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were able to focus on relaxing!

Wedding Weekend!

My brother was married on the beach in front of the hotel. The sunset was absolutely beautiful and the weather was perfect! I couldn't of asked for a better weekend! Our suite was very spacious and the view of the ocean from the 2nd floor was perfect. On-site staff were friendly and very accommodating. The area inside the hotel looked quaint and they did a lovely job on the landscaping; definitely made a big difference. Parking can be difficult if you have more than once vehicle. They do not staff attendants to help with luggage so be prepared. Although we waited a bit for breakfast, the food was fresh and really good. There is a pool bar on the premise but it is very small and located near the parking garage. Great location, walking distance to restaurants and shops. John's Pass Village & Boardwalk is close by with many retailers, restaurants and attractions to check out. Over all, a really good experience and will definitely recommend to a friend.

Good Visit, Nice Views, Wish hot tub by kiddie pool had fence

We stayed here in June. Overall, we had a great time on our family vacation. Here are some pros and cons on this property: Pros: It's on the beach with great views. They do have ok food there. It's not crazy expensive, but expect to pay $1.50 for a piece of fruit or $7 for French Toast with bacon. There are lots of places to eat just down the road, which is really nice and ice cream within walking distance. The front office staff was helpful and attentive. They even called when we arrived to make sure everything was okay. Loved the fact that they had a community beach box where you could borrow what you needed and leave what you didn't. The box had umbrellas, beach toys, etc. Cons: The bedrooms were small. If you plan to put a crib or pack n' play in bedroom, it's not going to happen. You have to set that up in the living room. The fish shaped kids splash pool was fantastic, but it seems that someone who does not have small children designed it because they put a hot tub just seven steps away in the same fenced area as the kiddie pool. This is a huge hazard. It would be better if a second gate was installed to separate off the hot tub from the kiddie splash pool. I noticed a lot of stressed parents trying to be sure their little ones didn't fall into the hot tub. Also, the place is pretty worn. The washer was old, took forever to dry clothes and was in strong need of wash machine cleaner. Other notes: Housekeeping is every other day. You'll need your own dish soap. They only give one dishwasher packet every other day. You'll probably want to bring your own trash bags. Overall, we had a good vacation. Enjoyed the view and had lots of fun swimming and at the beach.
