The Beachcomber Beach Resort
- What's Included
This 2 floor hotel is horseshoe shaped, with most rooms facing the really beautifully landscaped courtyard or heated pools. The large pool can get pretty crowded, the smaller pool is very nice and usually a bit quieter. Jimmy B's bar & bistro is between the large pool & the beach & is just outstanding for all ages. It's 5 different small step up levels with amazing gulf and sunset views. Afternoon music is softer, evening music is more inside and still fun. All the staff throughout the hotel are pleasant and helpful and keep up with this older property well. The rooms are indeed quite old, the bathrooms very small, the room air conditioners always on. The suites have a small side area with the mini fridge & microwave, another TV & sofa but it is not air conditioned. The balconies are a common walkway but are very pleasant & have chairs & table for each room. The north side are rooms 100's & 200's, the south are 300's and 400's; x01 starts by the lobby, x09 is by the fountain, x16 is by the small pool. The drawbacks:If you are really adverse to smoke, do not stay here. Smoking is allowed everywhere outside of the lobby and rooms themselves-balcony, patios, pools, Jimmy B's. And while there is no charge for parking 1 car, it is angle parking that you need to turn back around to exit. That can be tough to do if it's crowded.
My sister and I "ran away" for a week just to relax. I had never been to Florida before so we spent a few days near Orlando first. We needed a place for 3 nights and stopped in to see what the cost would be (Canadian dollar is not doing well). We were greeted by Ava who got us booked in for the remainder of the week and I must say we had an awesome time. The hotel far exceeded what we had in mind. Felt like we found paradise. The entire ambiance of this place is great. Property well taken care of, clean & very enjoyable pools. Jimmy B's was great as well, (I didn't get my beachview but did get my beach bar). The food was great and reasonably priced. We spent time lounging at the pool, sitting outside of our room chatting with other guests, hung out at the bar & spent time on the beach. The beach is just a short walk, the bar offers music all day & night. We didn't visit the sports bar on this visit as we are from Canada and wanted to enjoy all the warmth we could. The location of this resort is perfect, so close to some many points of interest. There is a 7-11 across the street for any last minute things which proved quite handy. We have told so many friends about his place already. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we are returning in August for an extended stay this time, 18 days, woohoo.
This was a lovely laid back hotel on the beach. The room was big enough and has a fridge.Nice and clean. The 2 pools get the sun all day and you can take your own drinks and food around.A great view at sunset.
This is an older property that is well cared for by its employees. Our room was a junior suite, good size with a small side room, with full couch, TV, small fridge and microwave. There are two pools and a fountain between the two wings of the hotel that get plenty of sun. The beach end of the property has a large deck complex that houses Jimmy Bs, the best beach bar on St Pete beach, three bars, and two stages for the bands they have every day. (2 bands weekdays, 3 on weekends). Beyond that you walk out to a big beach that goes for a couple miles in either direction. We will be coming back!
Very clean room and beautiful landscaping. The pools were cleaning and well maintained. The bar had great service and food. Very impressed with the staff professionalism. We will be returning next year
