Tradewinds Island Grand Resort
- What's Included
This is by far one of our top favorite vacations. We are already planning on another trip back soon because we absolutely loved it. Not only was the resort filled with amenities and fun activities but the staff was outstanding. They truly made us feel like we were special and did not look or act in anyway as though they did not want to be there. Every person we meet greeted us with a smile and a "have a great day". There was so much to do we were never bored but we never felt rushed or exhausted either. If you wanted to venture outside of the resort there was even more excitement. Shops, food, beaches, entertainment, and more. We truly fell in love with St. Pete Beach, FL.!
Our daughter and son in law had a wedding booked in Clearwater but thanks to hurricane Irma Clearwater was left with no power and no hotels open. The wedding got moved to St. Pete's beach and we went in to tradewinds to try and get a room for everyone to get ready for the wedding, unfortunately they also were not open until later that day and then they were fully booked for conference. Thanks to the fabulous staff they allowed us to use hotel facilities free of charge and allowed us to use the bathrooms to get ready for the big day. We can't thank you enough for saving us from an even more disastrous wedding! The wedding eventually went ahead later that day and everyone was able to shower and dress for the event including the bride. Thank you so much for all your help and big shout out to "Miss Audrey" who kept the wedding party entertained all day.
Stay on the 6th floor, gulf views! You're just over the palms with panaramic views!! One story down from the penthouse suites (a lot costlier) but still with all the perks!! Definately a resort to experience!!
Our family was given a stay as a Christmas present. It was from part of a timeshare. Our arrival was a little confusing, but once things got figured out we enjoyed seven fun days at the Tradewinds. Just remember if you are going as part of a timeshare, you do not get maid service daily. They were very nice to exchange our towels and pick up the room trash as needed. The older of my two daughters really enjoyed getting her passport booklet stamped after completing all of the kids activities. My younger daughter was also able to get her book stamped even though she did not participate in all of the activities. They both received their complementary shirts upon completion and proudly wear them. The on-site restaurants are convenient, but are pretty pricey. We found ourselves enjoying some close by alternatives. We could pick up fresh fruit at the Publix grocery store, which had a fun New York style pizzeria and Chick-fil-A sharing their parking lot. The resort was pretty, and there were several swimming pools, but none of them were very large. The pools got very crowded. I do wish they had one large themed resort pool and then use the smaller pools as like neighborhood pools close to the buildings. Being in the middle of July even the swimming water was really hot. They had lovely beach access, and included in our stay we could reserve a cabana every day. The high tide slide was really fun. Also the conch craft center was worth making some purchases in. It is a great place to go if you end up there on a rainy day. My children enjoyed the miniature golf, but wish it was lit for evening play. It was really hot during the day so everyone wanted to go when the sun was setting.
great family friendly place, very accommodating lots to do , or not to do. lots of kids activities and stuff for parents. good food. staff is friendly and helpful especially aaron G from housekeeper , one of the managers.
