Tradewinds Island Grand Resort
- What's Included
Every shop, bar, counter, desk, and restaurant here is staffed by friendly people. Ashlee, Nicole, and Quaza working in the deli were especially accommodating! I recommend this place - you'll never have to leave the property, and there are great things to do every day. It's high quality, safe, friendly, and fun for adults, even though it's kid-friendly.
Stayed from Feb 3-6th. Great staff, wonderful rooms, great kids activities. Good food, although expensive, same with drinks. Brenda from the kids club was WONDERFUL! This lady loves her job and shows it in so many ways. Very comforting to children and sincerely enjoys being around children! I wanted to stay longer because of her. She was helpful in many ways and Id go back just to meet up with her again.
Beautiful resort with everything for everybody. They have so many activities you may need a second vacation to do it all. The staff goes above and beyond to please. They are right on the ocean with literally 1000 beach chairs with cabanas, a huge water slide, many swimming pools. One pool is just for over 21 guests. The only drawback is the restaurants on premises are a bit pricey.
I stayed at the main hotel for work, so the hotel room was booked for me. It was very spacious and incredibly clean, but it's not a room I'd ever choose - quite dated decor, shower was not good, water didn't drain so ended up showering in ankle height water. The walls are very thin so you could hear every conversation in adjoining rooms. The only window for the room was very narrow and looked directly out onto the walkway so you couldn't really have the curtain open when in the room. I appreciate that there is so much outdoor space that most people won't stay in their room, but it would have been nice to be able to get over my jetlag in privacy, which I had to do in the dark despite the glorious sunshine outside.I really don't think I would have been happy to pay the full rate for this room. The other thing which really bothered me was staff talking incredibly loudly directly outside my room on most mornings at around 6am and pushing trolleys around which woke me up every day. If I was here on holiday, 6am would not be a fun time to wake up.The positives of this hotel were great however - direct access to the beach, lots of space outside even when it was busy, lots of eateries, and close to off-resort restaurants as well (all up and down the Gulf Blvd). More importantly, everyone I spoke to was great - in restaurants, on reception (thank you to Logan for the wonderful welcome!), and around the resort. They are a credit to your hotel.
This is a solid if a little unspectacular hotel on the beach. Rooms open directly to the outside world which is positive but the fact that the window is right by the bed limits privacy a little - especially when the curtains don't come together. The beach view was excellent even if I didn't get to walk on it as much as I wanted due to it being a business trip.
